The other conversation about chain wear spurs on this topic. Does anyone know what the specs for our chain are? Do we have a 530, non-oring chain like the pre uce-bullet?

The manual states 101 links, but no other pertinent data.

This is a nice graphic showing the relevant chain data points that I'm looking for: Roller diameter, width, and pitch.

Are you asking about G5 chain or C5?

G5 is a 530 Standard chain.
C5 is a 530 O-Ring chain.

530 on my 2010 C5.  I measured yesterday just to be sure.  BUT I don't think I have o-rings.  I'll double check later but it looked like a conventional chain to me.  Does the C5 have more clearance than the G5?  I'd love to be able to put in a DID x-ring chain when this goes if I've got the room to do it.

@Scott- I am quite sure all C5 have O-ring chains. O-rings are quite thin so probably you missed it out.

I was referring to the C5, I didnt know the G5 was different. I read somewhere else that the C5 didn't have orings because there was not enough clearance somewhere. Can anyone confirm for sure?

So the designation of "530" defines all of the above specs (Roller diameter, width, and pitch)? Sorry, I'm new to chain selection..

C5 certainly has o-rings and that I can confirm it because I have it on my C5. Lets see if Scott confirms it as well :)

My C5 has an O ring chain.
On the eighth day God created the C5, and it was better looking than anything on the planet.

Scroll down to 'Bicycle and Motorcycle Chain Dimensions' section for dimenstional info.  Nice little diagram at the top to 'splain what all the measurements are :)

Ahh, I see: here is the info Scott's talking about:

Took a look and they are there :)  They are either black or covered in black chain lube and are the skinniest o-rings on a chain I've ever seen.  Anyone know if there's enough room to run something like a DID brand 530 x-ring chain when this one wears out?

On the bonus side, I can use the nice clean dry chain lubes now :D

Scotty, I don't think it will be an issue at all with the DID chain on the c-5. My yellow O ring chain is pretty fat, with good sized O rings. I think I read some where,  on the forums here, they switched to somekind of black O ring chain on the C-5. My yellow ones are pretty pronounced. It would be hard not to see that they are yellow.I would say just by memory, that the yellow O rings are probably every bit as big as the O rings on the DiD chains I put on cb750's.

Yes indeed they changed the chains on UCE from yellow o-rings to black o-rings one. Forgot the name of the  company they were getting it from but the changed their vendor to Rolon now.
