Warning to ham-fisted, impatient mechanics, like me.

The right-side cover plate is held on at the top with two plugs and rubber grommets. Turn the key and pop it off. Easy! So the left side must be the same, right? Two rubber grommets? Nope! One rubber grommet and on bracket cinched down with bolt. So, obviously, I gave it a yank and broke it. Now I am fiddling with super glue to fix it, doing a terrible job, and caking it everywhere. What a pain. What a dubious design choice.

Don't get that superglue on your fingers - or lips for that matter.  ;)

Yuk, l think a stop weld with an arc welder might be a better idea.
