Murray Mallee next time? Besides the service roads, in the mallee a lot of roads have a single track made by dirt bike riders. Local "land care" vigilante groups and councils try to intimidate riders to not use them with signs or obstacles placed across the tracks but in reality if your bike is roadworthy and registered, single tracks are fair game.
Good thought. You just have to change your perspective and look.

My latest video. A short little ride in the Adelaide Hills that has become a bit of a favourite, a great way to start a day playing silly buggers in the twisties or deeper into the dirt roads.

My Himalayan playing sports bike up Wickham Hill Rd, Kuitpo, South Australia.
A surprisingly steep climb with a nice collection of U-turns.

An adventure into the great unknown... well, a pleasant little ride along a dead end road that start on one of the Adelaide Hills' iconic boy racer roads.
Valley Road, Montacute, South Australia. For reference, it's about ten minutes from the edge of the city but it's right up in the bushland (as you'll see).

And another video. See, when you're on holidays over the Christmas break, you get a backlog of vids to edit.

Anyway, if you ever find yourself in Adelaide, South Australia, the Corkscrew is a Must Ride. gizzo will confirm this.

Not directly Himalayan orientated, though I did ride my Himmy there.
It's the Kenny Blake memorial at Strathalbyn.
Kenny was an 11 times Australian motorcycling champion but died in a crash on the Isle of Man.
This statue is a remarkable piece of sculpture because it's made entirely of found objects - bits and pieces of just about everything. Very clever and more than worth the effort to go see it.

That's a really incredible piece of sculpture there. Very impressive and there hours and hours involved are plainly evident.

            Thanks for that.

All your other twisty, "racerboy runs"  :) on the Himalayan are fun, too. Now that I don't ride nearly as much (and it's winter here to boot), I get a kick out of "riding" with other people.

Jolly good! I like the Corkscrew. A guy I ride with a few times, he on a big KTM sm, he was hopeless all through the hills except up the corkscrew that he rode like a Demon. He didn't like lean angles but turns out he could drift pretty well.
The section past the big hedges, the people in those houses got fed up with motorbike noise. I think they are why the speed limits dropped to 70. I don't mind taking it easy past there if that's what it takes to make their lives more bearable. The second to last rh corner at the top, I don't think I've ever gotten that right. Steep, sharp, blind and armco'd, it puts me off my game.

I hoped they also complained about the cyclists puffing and panting. That's a surprisingly steep climb, even up to there and most seem knackered by that point. Goodness knows how it feels for the rest of the climb because it just keeps getting steeper.

A couple of dirt roads south of Adelaide. This was part of a much longer ride - other videos from that day are in the pipeline.

Greenhill Road - Balhannah to Uraidla across the top of the Adelaide Hills here in South Australia.
Not a dirt road this time, but a good one for just cruising along or for learners to get some useful miles under their wheels. It's all flowing corners, nothing nasty, and very picturesque (if you're not looking where you're going like you're supposed to be).

Aldgate Valley Rd, in the Adelaide Hills - they sure are pretty this time of year.

There's nothing 'adventurey' about this video, it's just a quiet road that snakes through the Hills and it's too narrow and has too much foot and other traffic to go silly on, but it's a great little cruising ride.
