Title: A quick hello from over the pond.

Hi folks my name's Mark and i'm from the UK.  I spotted a pic of my bike on Google images and just wanted to say thanks for all the positive comments that it recieived.  I'm not too sure who put the pic up on this site or where they got it from but thanks anyway.

Just an update, the bike has been completely torn down to a bare frame as I had to rebuild it from scratch due to the bike actually being aesthetically pleasing but it was a serious DEATHTRAP  :o :o :o :o :o

I started the tear down process last Christmas (2008) and finished the re-build

Welcome to the forum Bob, that's a good looking chopper you've built.  What is the black can behind the transmission on the right side?  Have you done any engine mods?

That is one of the coolest f#$%ing choppers I have seen.  ;D

thanks guys - the black can is a fakeoil bag, it houses a small gel battery and all the electrics.  The engine is standard apart from a Mikuni carb, its had an overhaul and new clutch and the gearbox has also been overhauled.

So it's no longer a death trap because you added a front disk to haul that massive machine down enought to put a foot down?

If that's a jockey shift I see, that must make using the front brake timing interesting...

How did you manage to get the chain by that rear wheel?  Is it WAY off-set?

wow Ernie you have a good eye.  I see that you also noticed that the only thing that is left from the original build is the frame (which had to be modified to allow a complete new rear end,forward controls and extra bracketry) and the engine, which had to be overhauled...once again nice to know you have a keen eye when looking at bikes  ::)

yeah the front brake which is couple with a kawasaki front wheel, forks, one off billet yokes (trees), bars, brake set up,levers, mirror etc doeswork better than theoriginal crappy drum that was on there... nice of you to notice and bring it up.

That little bike is absolutely Chopper-Licious!! It really reminds me of the bikes that we USED to put together from about nothing - but added all the love in the world to make 'em cool ..... This was, of course LONG before the current crop of CNC billet, chrome plated, noisy, catalog parts bikes became popular for those fellows whose only requisite for owning one was a fat wallet. YOUR bike has SOUL! Pat yourself on the back for a real sweetie!  ;)

What model did the forks come from?  They look a little skinny (34MM?)- any flex scares?  Did the wheel and brake go with the firks as a unit?   I notice you cleverly hide the left side;  what's the clutch set-up?  Mouse-trap?  Is the rear brake stock Enfield, or does it lock up easily...?



Edit;   Never mind- I just saw the clutch lever.
So- downhill left-hander downshifting into 2nd, you've got one hand on the bars while working the clutch, one foot on the forward peg, right hand shifting and right foot on the brake while trying not to lock it up.  When do you have a chance to use that fancy disk brake?   :o    ::)   ;D

That great looking machine demonstrates just what a beautiful motor the Classic Bullet has. Give it some daylight, strip out the clutter, then revel in all those fins and curves.

 Brilliant bit of building you have done there.
The fox float shock absorber under the saddle is a nice touch too ;)
