It's not a fraction of the press that Indian media gave the Meteor's release, but it's encouraging to see US moto writers taking the machine seriously.   RideApart even manages to avoid using the words "beginner" or "starter", playing along with RE as they position this machine as a cruiser.

Forbes already counting how many hundreds of thousends or millions of the meteors are going to be sold and how it translates into $$$.

The stroke's almost 90mm, so shove in a 500 UCE piston. If you can reasonably match weight with a bigger slug, you're already there. There's no shortage of liners. Who's got a machine shop & a donor Meteor?

If nothing else Malcom Forbes was a real motorcycle guy, he was partners in a BMW shop I use stop in once in awhile. A good friend and riding buddy of mine worked for him and mentioned more than once that he was fairly knowledgeable when it came to motorcycles.

It does, however those days forbes may be in a better position to judge a motorcycle than other magazines maybe.

After looking over a few Forbes M/C reviews, it's good to know the spirit of Floyd Clymer has found a home.

The feedback over here is that the new 350 donk pulls nearly as hard as the previous 500cc. I rode a UCE350 classic for a while as a second bike and loved it. One did, however, have to get off and push it into a strong headwind. It would sit on 110 kph on the motorway, but you were in the twilight zone...no vibes, felt like it was floating above the road and after my wife said I looked like a brown bear on a monkey bike just waiting to come to grief, I got a 650 Interceptor.  The new meteor has a better road presence and will sit on 100kph smoothly and effortlessly. Will be test riding one soon.

100kph won't cut it where I live. You need to maintain a speed of 120kph to keep from becoming an SUV's hood ornament.
