Blasco says in his write up that, " the Meteor 350 is hugely popular in India (there's a waiting list)", but if we look more closely at the sales breakdown, ( I put a link here of the most recent breakdown I found in this thread:

We see that RE is selling 6 times more UCE 350s than they are selling Meteors. Does this mean that they can't produce enough Meteors and people are "settling for" Classic 350s and Bullets? Is it because the price of the base Meteor is an average $170 more than a base Classic and $320 more than a base Bullet? Or does this mean what I believe to be true, that the Indian market prefers what they know and are accustomed to, over the newfangled and improved. Perhaps it's just the natural "wait and see" attitude that buyers justifiably take towards a new product in the marketplace.
I've heard enough accounts from Indian buyers to know that SOP is to "book" the RE bike one wants, and then wait several months until it arrives. Seems to me that every RE has a "waiting list".
I wonder what will happen when the new, OHC Classic with its "Meteor engine" comes out in India, something which appears to be only months away. Will RE suspend production of the UCE, or will they continue to produce it? If so, will orders for 350 UCEs shoot up when RE announces they are to be discontinued and replaced by the OHC? Will they offer the OHC 350 Classic, or whatever the "Hunter 350" is to be, to the US market? The 350 segment is RE's bread and butter, but it certainly looks confusing, from a marketing perspective, at the moment. Whatever happened to "Coke II", anyway?
One thing is for sure, ... as the new variations of OHC 350 and 650 machines are released, the organization of our forum headings will require some adaptation.
