Title: odd vibration
Post by: arunvader on October 26, 2013, 12:02:48 am
Hey guys,

So I have been riding my bike to work and back for the past couple of months (60 miles round trip) recently I have been experiencing odd vibration at certain rpms. If I accelerate or decelerate it will go away. Do any of you guys have any idea?

I have 5k on the bike.

Without any further information, and since this thumper is a bone-shaker, I'd say it's time to check all those nuts and bolts to see what's working itself loose.

Better to find whatever it is before it comes all the way undone.   :o
Cheers,

Dan K.

+1.  Especially check all the engine and tank mounting bolts.

+2 or 3.  Especially check the head brace and motor mounts.

If you have the stock silencer, don't forget to check the tightness of the heatshield bolts as well.

Recently, I had the head brace bolt and nut come loose and drop out while riding.  The bike and rider experienced a dull vibration to a strong vibration to a, this thing is coming apart vibration.  Check the head brace bracket and fastener.

All of the above plus check chain and sprocket condition, adjustment, and lubrication.
