k n air filters are not what is needed for ecu bikes and cars...i have been a mechanic for 40 years and the kn filters worked best on old carb systems but with newer ecu systems the air flow is calculated to stock air filter flow and the system cannot adjust to different types of filters...just keep your stock filter cleaned and/or changed and you will get best results...

It will fit...BUT...you will have problems with the filter...it's will decrease your speed and your gas mileage as well...look through the forum and you'll find a few topics on this issue...I've been through this issue before and so have a few other members...I'm sure they will pitch in fairly soon...

It ain't worth it.
you WILL get a couple more MPH, but, your MPG will suffer significantly.

I'm not so sure about that. Last weekend when we went to the rally the standard engine scrambler with 25 kg shredded and my 535 with K&N air filter tuned to a AFR between 13:9 to 12:5, with a pillion and about 25 kg added in accessories filled up on the return trip for exactly the same amount of petrol. Admittedly we cruised the whole way and not raced.

I had a K&N BN-1298 BMW filter in my G5. It worked very well. No problems with mileage or performance. It's a bit bigger than the filter NFG sells. It's what my dealer found best before K&N started making filters for REs.

Some people have had trouble with the K&N filter, some have found it works just fine.
There is one specially made for the RE:
http://nfieldgear.com/enfield-store/k-n-performance-oem-replacement-air-filter.html
And there are others that should fit:
BM-0400
BM-1298
E-4420

K&N has a page online where you can look up filter by dimension, which is where I got these.

Tried a K&N today on my 2009 c5.  Seems to run very well and felt like it would run a little quicker up steep hills and run clean from low rpms to high rpms in the corner to corner stuff.

I have the K&N RO5010 on my 2011 B5. The bike runs very well with it, no loss of power. If I have lost any MPG I haven't noticed it. There seems to be two definite camps of opinion on the K&N, people are either strongly for or against them!
