Title: Bob Mac Super Meteor running
Post by: Bullet Whisperer on August 13, 2010, 10:07:57 pm
Here is a short and shaky film I took of the Bob Macintyre R.E. 700 Super Meteor [with pre production Connie engine fitted], this machine was raced in the famous 1958 Thruxton 500 mile race by Bob Mac., who was placed second to Mike Hailwood [Triumph T110]. It is worth remembering that the Enfield lost 20 minutes in the race due to a split fuel tank, the rate Bob Mac was gaining, a few more laps and he would have won!

Nice!  I'd love to have an RE twin, but even if I could afford one, they seem to be pretty rare around my area.
