Title: APB for New York area riders!
Post by: Ragmas on April 01, 2013, 12:31:08 pm
Well, now that I have your attention.  It is Spring, which means it is time to shake off the frost and snow and go riding.  We seem to have some new members in the area and it would be nice if we could all get together and terrorize... Er leisurely ride around the country side in the near future.

So this is a roll call of sorts for all the NYC area riders.  This includes all five boroughs, NJ, Long Island, and Westchester County of course. Hell, this includes any one willing to ride to where ever we decide to meet up.

So, if you're in the area, sing out.  Let's meetup.

I am hoping that the lack of response means everyone is out riding and not sitting on the computer.  Let us hope.

Good to hear from you Chuck. Mat, where are you located?

This makes 4 of us now. That sounds like enough to get a ride started.  Perhaps next weekend.  Mat, let us know when you get your bike.

I will start planning a route, if you have any suggestions or places you like to go let's hear  about it.

Hey Samgar -- keep me on the list! I won't be able to go on a ride until May, but that doesn't mean I'm not interested!

Alright fellas, why can't you ride till may.  Rich, I know you had some trouble with your bike, is there a diagnosis?  Chuck, what's going on with you?

Samgar, I fixed my bike (with real-time help from people on this forum) -- all is well. But next weekend I'm in California and the following two weekends my riding time will be taken up by a motorcycle maintenance workshop...

Hi Samgar,
I'm afraid Beefy the Bullet is off the road at the moment for a little R&R. Should be done by the end of this month I hope.
I could ride Hilda the Honda but it wouldn't be the same.
By all means go ahead if you've got something planned already. The season's young; I'll catch the next one.
Chuck.

Sorry to crash this thread, but since you guys are from NY and I'm from Boston... I can't help but cause some trouble.

Rich - What is the workshop you are attending if you don't mind me asking? I've looked for something similar around here but haven't found anything besides the full on engine schools.

Go Sox :)

Well it seems that the few who replied can get together in May.  Sounds good.  I will post whenever I plan to go out and drive slowly.  Matt, we'll get you broken in nice and slow, where are you located?

hey guys, joined a little late on this forum. i bought my b5 last october and am looking to meet up and ride out as a group. went out for a ride to smithtown this past sunday, bit windy but enjoyable ride on gcp/nsp. i'm at border of queens and long island (LIE & Cross island). haven't built enough courage to ride to the city yet so i am riding mainly in long island.
below pic is from my ride to riverhead in trying to break the bike in.(http://)

Kwikee, welcome! If you take a look at the ride videos I've posted, you'll see that riding in the city isn't as intimidating as you might think! I'll keep a lookout for you.
