Good on them. I hope it works out this time. I think it would've been cool  if they'd tried building a sport bike around a v rod engine.  That was a proper performance motor and might have been good.  I guess the biggest hurdle is selling a sport bike to HD people,  and a HD to sport bike people. They've kind of painted themselves into a corner with the whole bad boy,  freedom shtick. But good luck to them.

They made a dirt bike back in the 70's, no idea if they still do.

It's just too bad that Indian turned their beautiful concept 1200 tracker into an ugly hunchback for production.

Bad exhaust off the showroom floor is forgivable.  That rear end most certainly is not.

Yes, they were all the Aermacchi bikes that harley tried to sell for 10 years. Luckily they got over that soon enough. They made a snowmobile during that time also.

The little Harleys were Aermacchi. Harley actually bought the company. Before that H-D had the Peashooter two stroke (125 I think) and even the Topper scooter. Then there was Buell. First on his own with the RR 1000, then H-D bought it in increments. In that same time period they bought MV Augusta, multiple times world champion for $200,000,000. After Buell won the AMA road racing championship, Harley pulled the plug and shut down the company. The same day they sold MV Augusta for a symbolic $3. They will soon be coming out with the flat track style bike and a cafe style as well as a 1250cc adventure bike. Someone at H-D has a sense of humor. The headlight on the Flat Track bike is shaped like a mile oval ;)

Not surprisingly, H-D had a tough first quarter and will probably cut back on manufacturing the new models that had been previously announced:  https://www.motorcycle.com/mini-features/harley-davidson-announces-q1-2020-results-and-new-strategic-plan.html
