hi folks, not sure if it is a tech tip as such but i have used a leingth of metal edge trim to go arround the tank seam to tidy it up, the sort of thing you used to get on car doors,it makes the tank look much neater, i bought 2mtr of 17mm edge trim from e-bay company called METAL EDGE ltd/or co,remove the seat and begin to bend it back slightly and feed it on to the tank lip from the tank mounts, follow the lip all the way round until you reach the other side of the mount, trim of the exess and replace the seatmake sure the trim is fully home on the lip all the way round and there you go done. also i noticed that the rear wheel throws a lot of crud on to the top of the swing arm and then onto the rear of the motor where the reg/rec lives and also some connector blocks, i got a piece of 2mm rubber sheet and some sticky back velcro and cut the sheet to fit inside the swing arm infront of the tire and used the velcro to fix it to the rear of the air box and also to the bottom of the canister/burp tank, no more crud throwen onto the electrics and swing arm.

Hi a10ken,

Thanks for the effort!

You can resize pictures using Microsoft Office Picture Manager that is built in to windows.

Right click on your image file and select "open with" then choose Microsoft Office Picture Manager.

Once the file opens select PICTURE from the top menu and then RESIZE.

Hope this helps!

If someone is running Windows 10 and they want to shrink their picture and it's file size down to something that is suitable for the web they can use the "PAINT 3D" to do the job.
Perhaps it's ironic but I just posted the instructions about how to do this on another web site so I copied it and I'll paste it here.

Most of the modern digital cameras make very large pictures with huge amounts of data for each one of them. For instance I have a picture of a part of my Royal Enfield motorcycle that is 5152 pixels wide and it uses up 4.41 million bites of data.

By using "Paint 3D" (or Paint) in my Windows 10 I reduced the picture size down to 1000 pixels wide (which will almost fill the screen on the forum). Reducing the picture size changed the amount of data the file needs from 4.42 million down to 171 thousand bits.

If your running Windows 10 or one of the earlier Windows with Paint you can reduce your pictures size and file size like I just did. Here's how.

*Go to the Start menu. (The button with the Windows flag).
*Select "Paint".
*Once opened, select MENU
*Select "BROWSE FILES" Then find your folder and picture you want to change. Open it.
*After the picture opens, select the three dots in the upper right hand area of the Paint address bar for "More Options".
*Select "CANVAS OPTIONS"
*Find the picture size area and check the "RESIZE IMAGE WITH CANVAS" box.
*Change width to 1000 and hit the ENTER button on the keyboard.
*Select the MENU button at the top of the screen and select "SAVE AS".
*Choose "IMAGE" and add something to change the picture name. I add WEB to it so I can find it easily.  For example, if the picture is named "Enfield at Biltmore" it becomes, "Enfield at BiltmoreWEB".
Be sure to varify where it will save the picture. I had to change it from Photos to the file name where my other motorcycle pictures are filed.

If your running a smart phone, your on your own because I don't know how to run one of them.

(You might want to print these instructions out. They might come in handy in the future.)

Looks like the old adage that says, "Threes the charm" is right.

That tank trim looks sharp, I may try the chrome trim to compare.  I always did feel that the look on the bottom of the tank left something missing.

I've tried several "door trim" examples, and all so far have been unsatisfactory.
None of them find the curves on the 500 tanks agreeable and come loose in the oddest places.
Time to try the metal embedded ones.

Big thanks for the link.  :)
