Check out this trailer that I saw today. Looking at it made me cringe. The owner, who was dressed like a cowboy, said that he carries his 100 pound German Shepard dog in the contraption.

Dogs are easy to come by. He must get pretty docile after breathing CO for awhile... ::)

I'm guessing that rig won't be much fun in a 40MPH crosswind, even less in a big sudden crosswind gust like coming from behind a wind-shielded road cutout thru a hill.

Here's another dog that was much more than cargo:

Down here in Australia the Quad Bikes are seen as more practical for moving your dogs about ...

I like the wheelie wheel on the box, must come in handy taking the Wing to the drag strip!

My kelpie used to go everywhere with me on the tank of my DR. We had to stop when we moved to the city. The police didn't like it.

How about this one?

At least that race bike trailer has a nice big rear wheel to support it and is not cantilevered off the rear of the chassis.

I and a couple onlookers did speak with the owner of the GW and asked him what he used the trailer for, which was when he told us that he used it to carry his dog - fitted with a helmet and goggles. Then he was asked why not just place the dog on the passenger's seat and he responded that was not as secure as the German Shepard being stuffed into the trailer. We forgot to ask him about his dog getting a snoot full of exhaust fumes. We also forget to ask him what modifications he had planned for the front of his bike - such as some more lead weights.  :-\
