Ok it's June. How far away are the C5's ? I'm getting anxious to ride!
-
In theory about 2 weeks or so. (Or so is the operative phrase)
-
Thanks! Man I can't wait to get my hands on that new bike ;D
-
Are we down to about one week or so?

There MAY have been a delivery manifest laying around SOMEWHERE in the pile of rubble that masquerades as my desk ..... or maybe the parts man has it ..... ;D I'll have to look ......
-
How many beers will I have to send you to find out??? ;D
-
Heeheehee!! Beer? Oh - I'm one of those SNOOTY Single-Malt Scotch guys ..... ;D A mere fermented, non-distillate would hardly warrant sampling more than six or eight .... ;) I'll check the desk and see if anyone knows anything ::) ... and TRUST me on this one - no one on the Planet is MORE about to pee in their drawers over the arrival of the new bikes than ME! Sad thing is that I'll bet that I don't see a single ONE of this container - they are ALL spoken for. They'll be "IN" and right "OUT" ...... :'( :'( YOU will likely see one set up before I do ....
-
Well, I'm not a scotch guy, but I'll pour you a wee dram from my bottle of Bushmills. Yeah I hope to see one real soon. I got money down on one, and cash in hand for the day it arrives. My wife wants it to get here more than I do, I think I'm driving her crazy with it. ;D ANY info would be greatly appreciated!

Oh! - You are waiting for one? Excellent! I was hopin' that you'd not get shut out on the first "box" of 'em - I'm excited for you. You WILL be ridin' one before I see one, I'm betting. I'll sure post when I have a little REAL info ... you guys have no idea what a logistical nightmare it is to move motor vehicles into this country through Customs, etc. I have to give Kevin a BIG, heartfelt pat on the back for his expertise and dogged persistence in gettin' bikes into the country. Without HIS hard work, we'd have to ride CRAPPY bikes! ;D
-
Oh yeah, I put 2 grand down on one a couple of months ago, it's been eating me alive waiting on it to get here. I think I can match you in the pants wetting department :D, I can't wait to throw a leg over it! Anything you can find out will make my life a lot better. I have a bit of an idea about how hard it is to get through customs, I brought in a old BSA from Burma, and a CJ750 from China. I've never seen so much paperwork and red tape. you guys must really have a headache with all of it.
-
r80rt: I hear 15 year Balvenie is an excellent tongue loosener if you're digging for info.

Even though we've had the C5 in the U.K here for a few months now Saturday was the first time I had the chance to view one, I must say they look even better in the flesh. I love the look of my electra but the black and white model sat in my dealers showroom really did look the biz.

Yes!
And if you like Speyside, the Aberlour 10 yr old is a great buy!
It may be only 10 years old, but it actually rivals the older ones very well, and it is affordable enough(under $40) to be a regular drinking Scotch.
Many of my "single-malt snob" friends drink the Aberlour as their everyday Scotch, because it is so good for the money. And these are guys that often crack some $250 bottles of Scotch. So, if it's good enough for them to not turn their noses up at, then it's some pretty good stuff.
And it's a Speyside single malt.
I like it pretty well too.
-
Scotch is good stuff, but I'll stick with the Irish whiskey. I've developed a fondness for it. But if I need scotch for a bribe then I'll get some!

I seem to be dedicated to the Islay Scotches .... the lovely missus says they reek like stale motor fuel ..... must be something to that .... Hahaha!!! Peat reek, INDEED!

I've said a few times that I likely wouldn't buy a new RE but I have to admit, the C5 has made me rethink that.
I hope to get to ride one before long as it seems to be a very competant creation with keeping the old character while moving forward.

While Scotch is a good subject and I can attest to Scooter Bobs love of the subject, It is time to actually throw you a bone.
The first container of C-5's is in port. It is being held up for a Dept. of Agriculture inspection. They are most likely looking at the documentation that says the wooden crates have been properly fumigated. We don't see this as a big deal or delay.............although this did happen to us with a container of sidecars last year and that took 6 months to straighten out. I am very confidant that the paperwork is correct and we will see them released soon. Then a trip by truck from the port to a railcar. After that delivery in Minneapolis/. St. Paul and then a truck to CMW. Then Tim and Michail unload the containers. (Normally after this it takes about two days before they will speak civilly to us.) then we start shipping, We report you decide.
-
All those sexy C5's in wooden boxes being prodded by govt. inspectors!
-
Thanks Kevin, I'm glad to know for sure they are here. I can hold on a few more days ;D
-
Are those bikes off the dock yet? I can send scotch to customs inspectors too!
-
Sorry, no bones today
-
Ok, I'll wait patiently. No that's not true, I really want that bike ;D
-
YAHOO!! One step closer! So if all goes well what? Another couple of weeks give or take?
-
No news is good news, I hope.
-
Bone coming your way soon
-
Myself I'm partial to the Black Bushmills. But I do like a good scotch, and Balvenie and Glenmorangie are two of my favorites. Must say I can't take Laphroaig, though... tastes like burned peat...
-
All snippets of information are eagerly anticipated, and greatly appreciated! I've waited 53 years for this bike, a few more days of torture will make it all the better when it arrives.
-
OK, I get the message, torture it will be.
-
We don't have to do torture, do we?? Did you read the first sentence of my last post?? ;D
-
No, no, I heard you ask for torture ;)
You are so excited, I am actually excited for you.
-Rick
-
Actually the wait hasn't been too bad until the last week or so, but now I'm jonesing pretty bad.
-
I just want to make it better for you.
-
I appreciate you taking care of me like that :D Any chance the Feds have turned them loose?
-
Covert Bone,

-
Thanks, I read that earlier, man I can't believe how excited I am about this new bike.
-
AAAHHHHHHHjonesjonesjonesjonesjones..!!!
-
Kevin, is the covert bone true? How long until our dealers see them?
-
That blog piece by omission suggests that the solo seat is the "stock" seat?
-
Is torture time over yet? ???
-
OK, here is a bone
-
Kevin, you're certainly getting the magazine coverage. I lost track of the print mags with articles on the C5. The latest one I picked up is an imported Brit magazine called Motorcycle Sport & Leisure. The local Hastings bookstore keeps a couple of other Brit mags but this is the first of these I've ever seen. Anyway, the write-up was favorable and the photos are some of the best I've seen published. :)
Incidentally, I don't know if it signifies anything, but I HAVE noticed that motorcycle magazines in said store are WAAAY at the far end of the mag rack. The only mags further to the left are the weed magazines (about 6), the tattoo magazines (12, believe it or not) and the porn. :D
-
This is the bone we've been waiting for, thanks!
-
WOOF!! ;D
-
When will the C5 get to the west coast?
-
The West Coast bikes left on trucks Monday and Tuesday. No telling how long. give em a week.
-
Oh MY!! Hmmmm...this means M&S cycles in Scotia, NY might get my bike in....today?! Holy cow, Batman!
