I have a model of the Messerschmitt KR200, but I wasn't aware that Heinkel also made one. What to do with leftover aircraft parts after WW2? Use them to build small cheap cars for transportation around war-torn Europe.  ;)

Here is information regarding the Heinkel Kabine bubble car from Wikipedia. I was surprised to read that the car was continued to be manufactured into the mid-1960's and that for a short time the car was built in Ireland: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heinkel_Kabine

An unheated car in foggy damp weather, it must have been challenging to find a way to see through the windshield. That hand powered windshield wiper blade is a hoot!

I had a small Buick beater work car that had lost its heater. In the low humidity desert it was seldom a problem. Over on the coast, morning commutes became dicey!  :o

my parents had an isetta at one point. i've owned 2 geo metros, which are close to bubble cars, and would own another if the right time, place and price coincide.

I remember seeing this film with a heavily featured bubble car.

We also grew up with this, as no-one here would have known what a Nash Rambler was!

And the BMW bubble car of course. Wheeler Dealers restored one on tv and sold it to the BMW museum in England.

If somebody is interested in getting into one of these, I see there is an Isetta available locally.   https://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/bar/d/eau-claire-1957-bmw-isetta-microcar/7780231176.html

I’m not surprised it took an british gentle man to discover this technical issue.

Of course. Because Tintin is the source of the cartoon & Tintin drove a Tooseevee  :)

There's also an ID-19 in that cartoon & the number's been blocked by another car (#10).
