Hi Guys,
Long time no see!

So I've had for awhile a project 2009 RE C5 Classic 500 in Royal Maroon. In its previous ownership it was stolen and recovered, and obviously was crashed. So I am slowly sorting the bike out.  I'm at the point where I am needing tyres for it, as I'm in the process of doing a 19" front wheel conversion, and all thats left to do on the front wheel conversion is fit a new front tyre. The rear tyre is worn. So I need two new tyres.

The rear rim is WM4, the current tyre size is 110 80 18. I was thinking to go with a block tread pattern tyre like the Heidenau K67 Motorcycle tyres. Will an K67 4.00x18 fit the rear of my bike with out fowling the swinging arm?

Hidenau K67 4.00x18 fits my 2015 C5 with no clearance problems.
Off route, recalculate?

Thanks Haggis, just put an order in. Out of interest what K67 tyre size did you fit to the front?

And the front wheel with the K67 fitted fine? The tyre doesn't contact rub anywhere on the mudguard or stays?

I think that C5s later than 2012 came with forks that have the axle inline with the forks, instead of offset to the front, and came with 19" wheel front and 18" wheel rear.

When I went looking for new fender stays, to convert my C5, built in 2011 to use a 19" wheel instead of 18" wheel, and needed more tire clearance under the front mudguard, I was told that the issue is more with the arrangement of mounting holes on the fork sliders and that a longer set of fender stays that would work with my offset sliders didn't exist.

Hopefully he will be riding a lot of dirt roads as the ride and cornering will certainly suffer.

Obviously you are looking for an improvement in off-road capability?  Allow me to respectfully suggest the addition of a skid plate and some handguards ala' Barkbusters.  You may also want to consider some highly effective hearing protection, as those tires are going to howl like a banshee on paved surfaces.  Your lean angle on curves is going to be greatly compromised, and the vibrations from those tires are going to have you tingling all over and sore in the arse and lower back.  You probably know all this, and I apologize if I am "preaching to the choir".  Also, buy a couple of tubes of Loc-Tite and use it liberally before you sally forth.  Please let us know how you find the ride and the handling after breaking-in these tires.  I recently went with Michelin Anakee Adventure (rear) and Shinko Dual Sport (front) on a Honda NC700X, and I can tell you that they were annoyingly noisy and not very good on cornering, and less than comfortable at any speed.  They are much less aggressive than what you have chosen.  Interested to hear how you like them.

i understand that those tires are for off road but  on road they're not going to perform well.    why not look at a dual sport  tire like Ural outfits its bikes with?

I am on my third pair of Hidenau's K67.
Handling on road is absolutely fine.
Can still scrape the rear brake pedal on right handers and the foot rest on left handers.
The bike is the limiting factor, not the tyres.
Yes, they do howl at various speeds and differing road surfaces.
There is certainly no extra vibration from them compared to the standard road tyres.
I can almost get a pair of k67 for the price of a rear Avon.
Mileage is around 4k before the blocks start to dissappear.
I don't need a sump plate or handguards on paved roads, although handguards are good for keeping the weather off your hands.
Off route, recalculate?

I have got a set of these for my bullet trials 500 replica, 2020 model but are still concerned about the front mudguard clearance theirs not a great deal of free space with the standard 90 90 19 tyre, any thoughts anyone, cheers

There may be accessories on the market that will raise the front mudguard to provide additional clearance if needed. You might want to perform some internet research. I know that such accessories exist for the Honda CT-125, as an example. Or you might be able to fabricate longer mudguard attachment stays from sheet metal or aluminum.  ???

I am interested in white wall tires.  I have only been able to find 100/90 19 inch but no rear 18 inch.
