Title: Touch up paint
Post by: Ducati Scotty on August 02, 2010, 05:18:54 pm
Is there touch up paint available for the teal C5?  If not, has someone found a car that's close so I can pick up a bottle at the local auto store?

Talk to your dealer, that's where I got my touch up paint.

These solutions are so obvious.  Isn't there some rare '38 Dodge paint that almost matches but is special order and takes forever to get?

I honestly didn't even think of it.  I'm so used to having bikes where the paint from the dealer is $25 for a half ounce and still doesn't match that well.  Oh, and the Monster dark just needed a Sharpie :D

Thanks,
Scott

Tried several times to get some BR Green touch up paint , even waiting for a " back order". Then to be informed that the paint didn't match up. ( after I called back)
Apparently BR Green is made in many different shades from the factory.

At some point I will take my air box down to NAPA and have the computer match some paint for me.

CMW doesn't want to sell BR Green. Unless something has changed.

Other then that I have received stellar service from CMW on the phone. They can't squeeze paint from a turnip though.

The factory mismatch sounds about right.  I understand thats why they don't colormatch sidecars any more. Paints come out shades different from one time to the next, and don't match the bikes right.

Maroon C5 is really close to GM  pn# WA334D
Used on lots of Chevys for several years.

Thanks, Scott

That's another reason I will probably order the black C5.  Sharpies work!   ;D
