Eddie and Jodi Mulder host a yearly British Bike Rally at Lake Cachuma in the foothills north of Santa Barbara: http://eddiemulderswcvdts.com/tag/cachuma-lake-british-mc-rally/ located at https://www.mapquest.com/us/california/live-oak-campground-303106642
I've been itching for an event like this so called and they said non-British bikes very welcome. I'm on their mailing list and when registration opens I intend to get my free T-shirt. I'm not much of a camper but they offer hot showers and after checking local hotel prices I intend to be a quick learner. However I'm not sure what their point is about 400 oak trees.
Some forum members really liked their rides up there: https://forum.classicmotorworks.com/index.php/topic,12246.msg181630.html#msg181630 and https://forum.classicmotorworks.com/index.php/topic,10707.msg124304.html#msg124304
The MG would be the easier ride but I intend to take a few days up and down on the RE. Probably coast up and mountains back. Nostalgia beckons.
