Title: Indian Logo Options
Post by: High On Octane on March 28, 2013, 12:23:36 am
Back at again guys!

The Indian water transfers were a complete failure and I refuse to EVER waste my time with them again.  I have a local graphics guy cutting me a couple stencils of the logo that will be ready tomorrow afternoon.  I DO have some gold base coat paint in my garage now.  If I went with the white pearl or chameleon paint I'd have to pick those up from somewhere.  If I go with the gold base coat I can paint it right away and keep the ball rolling on this restoration.

Thanks Guys!

With all of this voting and stuff you do realize your bikes paint job is going to look like it was designed by a committee don't you? ;D ;D

Of course, that's not all bad.
If someone criticizes the metallic black with a gold logo you can always say, "Hey man!  I didn't like it either but if I went against the committees decisions they would think I wasn't being pro-active!  I mean, how can I argue with all of that synergy?
This is what the metrics said it should be."

If you don't recognize these buzz words, count yourself lucky.  ;D

For what it's worth, I think it's going to be a bitchen bike.  :)

Actually, if it weren't for my wife, who knows what crazy ass wild design I would have come up with.  But she keeps me level and convinced me to keep the paint job simple.  The reason I ask for your opinions is because I don't want to accidentally build an abomination that isn't appealing to anyone.  Kind of like building an ice cream sundae.  If you put too many sprinkles and toppings on, it'll appear to be fantastic, but after you take a couple bites, you realize there is just sugar chaos and no real flavor.  As far as I'm concerned, right now I have a beautiful vanilla sundae with just right amount of hot fudge on top with Indian logos for cherries.    ;)

I would not take stock in any opinion. Do what you want. Artistic expression is a solo venture. No matter what you choose to do, there will always be someone that will trash your concept. Screw em' all! A**HOLES are like opinions.........(it works either way) everyone has one.

Scottie,
Just to give you an idea of one of your suggested color combinations: I've taken a picture of the Indian logos I made for my bike.
They're made of gold reflective safety sign material, and pinstriped black around their outside edge.  It's absolutely brilliant in the sun, and adds a bit of side visibility at night.

Now you'll know what the gold/black combo would look like...

Sir Stanley, that looks awesome.

Wait, are we supposed to vote or suppress our requested opinions?  I'm super confused.

Artists seek input and council all the time.  It's perfectly healthy.

I was just getting opinions.  I'm done with the logos now, going to get clear coat in a few minutes and then hopefully have it cleared by this afternoon.
