1 minute of latitude.  Critically important for chart work.

The Dutch empire spread their weird units at one point.  Their mile was about 5km.  Interestingly this confusion about Swedish and Dutch feet seems to have contributed to the infamous sinking of the Vasa

Interesting, Thanks. The next time I'm in Stockholm I'll definitely take in that museum.  That sounds weird to read, but I do end up in those woods every so often.

I think the factory switched to Ceat tires for the 2022 year models.
My 2021 Interceptor was fitted with CEAT tyres. Front tyre got a brass screw in it after just 800 kms, so now I’m riding with a Pirelli at front. Tyres have now done about 13,000 / 14,000 respectively and I’m looking into getting dual-sport tyres to replace them. I like to ride the back-roads, but the Interceptor with its stock tyres doesn’t feel at home on an unsealed road. I think I’ll start a thread on this topic. I’m not having much success finding dual-sport tyres that match the specs of the existing tyres.
1970s:
Suzuki 100cc,
Honda DOHC 450 ("Black Bomber"),
Honda 175cc
Then I stopped riding for 40+ years :-(

Hi James,
I noted your location is in the British Isles. That is the reason I gave a rough conversion to miles. Who would have thought that it’d lead to such a diversion? ;D

By "old country" I assume you mean Britain? The US and British miles are the same distance as far as I know, at 1760 yards.

Phil

I’d have thought the word “respectively” would have been understood! ;)

So the two metric distances I reported will roughly convert to 5000 and 4000 miles.

I'd just be interested to know if there is another "mile" distance out there I'm not aware of.
Don't get me started on Metric V Imperial measurements. I'm fully measurement ambidextrous but the Imperial system is a PITA compared to Metric as most of the world already knows.

Phil
A country mile.
