I recently replaced the handlebars on my Electra with the early hi-rise bars from CMW. It made a very nice difference in comfort. I no longer get a kink in my upper back after an hour or so in the saddle. The original bars had some nice curves to them but were just too low. Also, in order to tilt them to an angle comfortable to the wrist, the switch gear hits the tank. This should have been one of my first mods.

Which bars did you get - I will probably want them on my new bike, when I get it.

err, I would know something about that too.. ::)
congrats on your new bars... ;D
I'll stay with the low ones for a while..my arms are pretty long

I got the ones called "early hi-rise" from the catelog. In the book, they are listed as only for the standard Bullet, but when I called CMW, they said they have two types, one standard, and one for the Electra. They mount using the stock cables. If they didn't, I would not have been able to afford them.

They are the ones on my Bullet, I definitely want them on the new one.

It's funny, all thru the 70's the Americanized version of European motorcycle models included handlebars with higher rise and more pullback. I always preferred the Euro-spec bars. I even swapped in a few clubman and superbike bars - not to mention a pair of genuine Tomaselli clip-ons on an SR-500.
My stock bars, in combination with the solo sadle, have me in a proper upright British riding position, I'll stick with them!

Yeah Matt, I prefer the Euro low bars myself. You still got the SR? Dew.

Dew,
No, I don't have the SR anymore. It was alot of fun, but I'm enjoying my RE more. I do wish there was an SRX-6 available for when I get the urge to wring out a thumper!
