Title: Dim headlight
Post by: Bullet500Dude on December 20, 2007, 12:58:28 am
Well, I have a problem I can't figure out.  The lowbeam of my headlight is real dim.  I've checked all the wiring, checked the altrenator output, replaced the headlight regulator, sealed beam,  bar switch assembly, and no good.  It is very frustyrating, and I hope one of you can please help me.  Thanks in advance.

This is usually a ground problem. Make sure the battery ground(s) are in good shape-no fraying or loose connectors. Then trace every ground connection, disconnect, clean and re-attach. good luck!

You forgot to mention the year. The early 99's and older had an anemic alternator.
Is the hi beam bright?, If it is,the ground must be ok.

I have seen this when the three wires attached to the headlight are installed wrong.

two of the wires on the headlight are swapped, so on low beam the current is flowing through both filaments, but it's OK on high beam.
