Looking to change my stock lighting... would love to see what aftermarket lighting you chose and how it looks installed on the GT.

I'm thinking about going all LED for brake & turns, and also getting a lower profile headlight to give the nose more of that snubbed bulldog look which helps make the front tire appear to jut out further. In this style:

compared to the longer stock headlight:

I think this Bates headlight would do the trick:

You might have better luck posting in the 650 forum. It's the same basic chassis, the 650 forum is a lot more active and those guys love farkling.

Or you could use the search function.  There's been plenty of posts about lighting modifications.

As 'Gizzo' suggested, I'm gonna go ahead and punt this thread over into the 650s section on the hunch that it had been meant for the attention of those  "Continental" riders all along, and not us old thumpers happy enough with a glowing chunk of carbide in our few remaining teeth to light the way.

So badass my Enfield's actually illegal  in India. Yet it squeaks by here in Virginia.

I swapped to an all in one rear led and led fork signals. Got them all off eBay.

Rear LED light/brake light from Baak in France. Also Motogadget LED blinkers ..came with all the harness and brackets. Easy plug and play. Pricey but good quality.

Rear light and turn signal, shamefully copied from Jack Straw's bike  ::) but not from TEC, direct from China.

I have a few of the light before I mounted it and the took a better one of the light close up.  Like the TEC unit, I had to drill 2 holes in the stock housing to mount it. The light itself is steel construction. The housing has a face that holds a red plastic lens in with 2 screws that extend inside to hold the led board in place. I can't confirm that the TEC internals match the Chinese oval light, but the housing and lens appear identical. Painted finish was nice enough for my purposes.

I used the BAAK rear lights and the brackets for the turn signals on the rear. Once the tag is installed you cannot see the brackets unless you look behind the tag of course.
On the front I mounted them to the flyscreen bracket then put an allen head bolt in place of the stock turn signals.

I found these incandescent bulb blinkers on Revzilla for $23/pair. They’re less conspicuous but much brighter than stock. They also sell them in other shapes, but I liked the cat eye and glad I went with them now that they’re on the bike.

The rear blinkers are mounted with cheap brackets off of Amazon. When I bent them the paint cracked and peeled off so I sanded and painted them.

The taillight and bracket came from Amazon as well. $23 USD for the kit. I wasn’t sure about the light but thought that was reasonable just for the bracket if it worked. It fit perfectly with no modification to the bracket except for bending it slightly to get the light perpendicular to the ground and the plate at the angle I liked. The light is a piece of junk and will likely get changed out. It’s just not bright enough and still a bit bigger than I want.

Reworking the wiring in the rear was a bit of work but in the end I’m happy with the results.
