Hi,

Anyone know the number of teeth on the front sprocket on UK RE bullet 2019. I am looking to up-grade but don't know whether in need 19T or 18T.

Cheers

Rob

On the uce efi C5, the euro 3 was an 18, on the euro 4 it was changed to a 17. Don't know why?
C5 has an 18" rear wheel.
Not sure if this is the same with B5 model?
I run 19 teeth sprocket on both my C5.

I'd personally get a sharpie marker or a grease pencil, make a mark on the sprocket tooth, spin the rear wheel and count the teeth.  Then you are a lot more sure than reading a spec.  I've read that you can't increase many teeth before you run out of space in the drive sprocket housing.

Have you made other mods (silencer etc.)? Interested to know if a 500 will pull a 19T with the stock silencer, filter and ECU?

19T is doable on a stock bike but you will be downshifting more often with hills and headwinds. 20T requires filing away a bit of the case and not worth the effort as there are no real advantages.

Once you start changing sprockets, the silencers, air filters and ECU are part of the natural progression  :)

It would not typically be recommended practice. It's like asking, "Can my mouse carry this elephant?"

First, the bike doesn't really have enough power to pull itself in stock form, much less a sidecar outfit.
Second, reducing the torque multiplier on a bike with low torque, and then adding a much bigger load, and asking the engine to pull it at a lower rpm that makes less hp than before, is probably not a good thing to do. Lugging the engine is bad for it.

If you want to pull sidecar duty, lowering the sprocket to 17T would be a better idea, to get the rpms up in the power range earlier.
And doing the power mods mentioned would also help.

Don't think he is looking to pull a sidecar?  The 19s were fitted after exhaust and intake mods, also pcv, so plenty power to pull the 19.
I wouldn't call it a bike with low torque.

Hi, thanks Haggis, makes sense. Mine is stock and has to remain that way, as no aftermarket exhausts for the Trials 500 :( Not planning on a sidecar!

Thanks for the replies.

Hi,

Bike is stock and euro 4 so I guess 17T.
To be honest I have done a lot of researching and the more teeth seems to iron out vibes at high speed. I don't have that bad vibes at high speed its at the lower speed that I get it. i'm thinking sprocket change is not going to make much difference for my bike.
Also the whole air filter and exhaust thing is a tricky one as well particularly with warranty. Think Im going to save me cash and spend on some nice saddle bags  :)
Thanks

Rob

How many miles do you have on it?  Two things happen after 1500 miles, 1. the bike loosens up, 2. Your elbows and knees loosen up, and the vibes disappear (a bit)  :)

my youtube channel will be giving away a fair bit of stuff for c5's in the coming months - heres an example -new 19 T front sprocket.
plus chain oilers/ filters exhausts speedos accessories-I am getting rid of all my stock. couple of Himalayan items too
true I could sell them but I really don't need the cash that bad. all up I estimate 20 draws for different items in total.
all you have to do is click on and sub.
who-ever wins per draw open worldwide and free postage-nothing fairer than that.
the items must go -I don't require them- so out they go in a give-way.
if it turns out a mistake - I can always buy them again...lol
