Hi I have an aftermarket silencer which came with the bike. Is it possible to repack the inside to reduce the noise level? I also see baffles for sale, does the baffle mount in the rear end or forward end of the silencer? Thanks for any assistance.
I would post a picture but I can't remember how? 😝

As I have found out, it is hard keeping the packing in place for long. I bought from India and Indian made silencer which had no packing at all. I bought a baffle and packed it with the provided wire and sounded gorgeous as well as looking spot on. Didn’t last long though before blowing out all the matting. I’ve tried various ways to retain it but nothing really worked. It would sound great with new packing but within 500 miles it would just get louder and louder again, from a lovely burble to a boy racer racket.

I gave up and replaced it with a Hitchcocks silencer that looks way way better and the burble is very pleasing! Expensive option but worth it!!!

I’ve kept the Original long silencer and the Indian after market so I have a choice should I get bored of the Hitchcock!!

Hi I haven't got a clue as it came with the bike. It has started to rattle a little when revved now so I am guessing something has come loose within the bottle part of the silencer.

I think i may go for this option rather than faffing around with repacking all the time. Thanks for the tip.

I've just changed mine to an aftermarket one £16 off Ali express it has a removable baffle but it made very little difference with it in or out, out was obviously way too loud I had to re set the throttle position sensor to max to get it to run without a flat spot, I wrapped the baffle with 1mtr of stainless steel exhaust wire wool that did the trick it's still louder than the very quiet standard muffler but nice tone on the over run no back firing I also fitted a 19 tooth front sprocket so I only need 5th now over 60mph so cruising speeds much better
