With the calimoto app it gives me deceleration values so I can provide details when I make the changes. Obviously it won’t be in lab conditions but will start with the pads and fluid and do a logging run before and after on the same stretch of road

Any experienced rider could explain what is more effective for improving brake power, 4 piston caliper or radial bomb?

Key quote for me is at 2:34: "when it comes down to it, braking performance is influenced by a lot of factors. And how your calipers or your master cylinder is mounted is at the bottom of the list."

Do you mean a radial mounted master cylinder or caliper? In both cases they accomplish similar benefits which is adding feel. The benefit of the radial mounted master cylinder is to have the hydraulic and mechanical forces in the same plane, I added one to my zx6r and it did indeed do that, you can also get different ratios and cylinder sizes which dictates the amount of force given to the brakes.
Radial callipers came about to reduce the twisting on the calliper by mounting it at both ends.

An upgrade to 4 pot callipers would provide the best upgrade as long as the master cylinder has enough pumping capacity as with 2 pot sliding callipers it’s effectively the 2 pistons pushing against the body of the calliper rather than 2 opposing pistons.

The rear brake on my Interceptor was very poor so I changed the pads for EBC HH. Big improvement.

is there a particular spec for this pad to fit these bikes?  You didn't touch the front?

No, I only changed the rear pads to "EBC Double H Brake Pads - FA213HH" Takes a couple of minutes to do.

The front seems fine although most of my riding is around 50/60mph so never really get used in anger. However, I do like to feather the rear when cornering or when executing slow turns and the oem pads meant that I had to press hard on the pedal. The EBC's just need a lighter touch. I bled the rear before deciding on new pads and it didn't make any difference but the new pads certainly did.

Having owned two CX500's, loved them and rode them like sports bikes, I still must say you're nutz. A front end worth more than the rest of the bike.  ;)  ;D

HaHA - yep those brakes on the CX might be a bit of overhill.  Mind you need good brakes in Aussieland because there is lots of dodgy drivers!

The standard set up with good pads is ok on a racetrack at a fair pace so surprised yours is lacking. Change the pads and fluid. A better master cylinder would help too.

SBS pads, triumph Thruxton 11mm axiel master cyl, by niisin and kawasaki Z900RS reservoir work for me just great.
