Title: Front sprocket, same as the old 5 speeds?
Post by: Ducati Scotty on January 21, 2013, 05:28:49 am
I went to the dealer to get a set of sprockets for my 2010 C5 the other day.  $75 for the rear, kinda sounds right.  $60 for the front.  What?!?!?  He felt the same way, sounded like a lot.  He was going to check and get back to me.

So I poked into NField Gear and saw this:

$34 sounds better than $60.  It looks like the right part.  Anyone know for sure?

Thanks,
Scott

Pretty sure that is a no. But only becasue they seem to pop up as separate items in parts catalogs. I have not actually sat down and compared the two to see what the difference is.

I think you're right.  Hitchcocks has them listed separately under different part numbers.

I'm upgrading my B5 to an o-ring chain - Tim at NFG sold me a "FD sprocket 18T (UCE)" - NFG part #571032.  $39.99.

The hole is a larger diameter on the old 5 speed.

Thanks to both of you.  I can see the dealer marking up parts a bit but 50% would be a bit stiff.
