The best manuals, if you can get them, are from the manufacturer of course and Clymer also makes manuals, which are generally considered a notch above Haynes in accuracy and completeness. When Honda made the ST1100/1300 models,(Pan European across the pond), they did sell the manuals and ST owners overwhelmingly list them as Honda #1, Clymer #2 and Haynes as a last resort.
With our RE products, so far at least, we have managed to find workarounds to get the 650 and 350 manuals out to the owners via the internet, when RE has decided it will not sell them directly to anyone. Even dealers can not get paper copies of the manuals.
Seems a short sighted position to take, costing RE potential profit, as there will always be DIY'ers who can do the work themselves and will find ways, as we have, to get the manuals needed anyway.
I'm not sure how the RPC company mentioned above is selling paper copies and getting away with it, as there are copyright laws that can be applied to them. Maybe RE is not pursuing protecting their copyright?
