Welded up one of the front mudguard mounts today.

I noticed it had completely cracked last week.

Good thing these RE's are made of steel. Simple weld job, spray some black paint (3 coats), and a clear coat to make it pretty.

Sunday .... actually rode it properly for the 1st time this year! Only for an hour and a bit.

(excluding the small distance to the MOT station)

Another oil & filter change today.
This time I drilled, tapped & helicoiled the strainer cover bolt holes. The little 5mm bolts no longer felt tight and I was becoming increasingly worried I'd loose one on a dirt road miles from civilisation.

I went out on a dealer tour.  at 1300 miles, it's starting to become responsive to my flogging...

You have a UCE with an ammeter? Is it connected? I got one to fill the hole that once held idiot lights.

Yes, the 350cc Classics have an ammeter in place of the fuel light.
Because the bikes have a carb they are fitted with a fuel reserve switch; I guess RE decided a fuel light wasn't necessary. They keep the 350 very simple  :)

Today I got to 2,000 miles. Gave it a celebration clean and wax. Overall, very pleased with the bike.

Aha! A 350. I am converting to a carb so I won't need this functions. I'll have to see where the ammeter is hooked up on the 350. I may make mine functional yet.

This is the wiring diagram for the 350 if that helps hook up your ammeter

I sat on the couch for a couple of hours, staring at a bare cylinder head from a Bullet, trying to figure out how to improve the valve rocker system.
It was 97 degrees here today, with about 99% humidity, and I guess the heat index was about 110.

Have you thought about some performance head work?
A better exhaust system? (Very cheap).
Perfomance camshafts?
An aftermarket EFI system (very cheap).
I can send you some photos of my C5 that has these mods and is running.

Installed K70 tires. 3.25-19 and 3.50-18. Now the bike has both tires on the ground while on the center stand :P
