jefrs,

My '06 Electra and '12 C5 parts manuals (dated 2004 and 2009 respectively)do not reflect that PN you provided for the exhaust gasket. Both give a PN of 510804/a (Electra) and 510804 (C5), though the same gasket fits both bikes perfectly. And your PN provided does not appear anywhere in the numerical listing in the back of each manual.
When I ordered the PN 510804 I received the 510804/a flat grey gaskets, which I returned, as I only ordered them for stock.
Has there been a later revision to the parts manual(s)? If not, where did you find the PN?
Another thought: Could you provide the OD, ID, and thickness of the copper gasket in inches or millimeters? Maybe I'll need to source them locally.

E-Mail has already been sent to Tim. He'll take it from there.  ;D

I was just curious where he found the part#.

Between head pipe and exhaust port right?  ???

The copper "donut" gaskets for Honda CB 750's work well also.  ::)

I was using them myself on the stock pipe, since there is a Honda dealer a few blocks from my house. About $8.00 each though...  :P

I now have an "English Chrome pipe from H, with larger ID.  :) That one leaves a greater distance from ex port to pipe so I've got two flat, grey, fiber, metal gaskets in there together which H included with pipe...so far, so good!  8)

Took my indicators and the fittings I made off the bike for painting up. I fitted them at the beginning of the the year to see how they worked out. Then the sun came out and a season of riding intervened. May look at the wheels next, I fancy some gloss black alloy rims laced onto the standard hubs(powder coated black) with the standard s/steel spokes.

I had a nice couple of hours of riding today after 3 rained out days. I reckon that after the winter riding season is done, I'll be ordering in the larger ID exhaust pipe along with a set of flanged alloy rims from H to spruce up the wee beasty a tad. ;)

The stock rims on my one look like(And are!) shyte up close. :o
Nothing better than a nice putt on an RE.

I'm loving this bike.
We normally do a run of 200 - 400kms a week.
Once upon a time I worried about the bike shifting around, the odd tiny wobble, kept hearing engine noises, worried about the bike being reliable.
So the wife and I took a deep breath and agreed to just ride it like a normal bike.
A bit over 1200kms later we are both quite used to the C5 (Roy) and feel totally comfortable on it.
It handles surprisingly well but can be slightly "boingy" on rough corners but always stable, the bike eats up the outback roads and easily copes with 110-120kmh out on the open highway hours on end.
In fact it feels happier at 110kmh than 100kmh.
It is so economical even when pushed a little giving around 40-45kms /litre.
These figure are two up as well.
The tyre pressures I ended up with for the 18 inch Conti GT 120/18 rear is 32 psi, 2 up, and front Avon 22 psi.
The bike is a whole lot more stable with the higher pressure.
We ran 20 front and 28 rear before.
We run premium unleaded with Morey's Injector- UCL, and we use Penrite 15W-50 with 15% Morey's Oil Stabiliser with the engine oil.
The stabiliser made a huge difference to the vibration level and the clutch is smoother and bites nicely.
We have yet to do a night time run mainly because of wallabyphobia and buffalophobia   :)
The Royal Enfield Bullet 500 is a real winner

I ride on the winding roads of Ooty,India (The Blue Mountains). The narrow roads with old british era bungalows and churches on both the sides,I feel like I am on countryside England.
Mesmerized by the mountains and the culture over there , I stuck on this on my Classic 500.

That is one beautiful sticker Balaji! It really looks good there.  :) I love to ride my RE in the Cascade mountains of Washington state, as do many of my local Enfield brothers. I like to think of it as Himalaya training.  8)

heloego,
I've also some difficult to purchase in Italy the RE copper exhaust gasket, but I'm succesfully using kawasaki zx6r 2007-2010 copper ones, they fit perfectly to my UCE Bullet.
The following the link to ebay (they comes from UK)

Relieved some (more) alloy from the hole in the nacelle to allow an unkinked clutch cable run from the lever down to the clutch arm. Only requires one fore finger to pull it right back to the grip.
No fast idle cable fighting for space through there also helps - I took that off a long time ago as the bike will start and idle first push of the button even with temps just below zero  -  and I no longer go out for a ride unless it's above freezing :)
Never underestimate the value of improved combustion efficiency and reducing parasitic engine and rolling chassis losses.

Spent the afternoon servicing my 2012 B5.
I also changed the head steady as it was starting to corrode, to a H's stainless version.
I cleaned up the battery tray area as the metal is not looking good after a boiled battery a couple of years ago spat all its acid out, so I cleaned it up and used anti rust paint to cover it.
I finally changed the original type Bosch spark for an NGK, first impression is idle is much smoother, so hopefully it'll be the same through the rev range when I'm out for my 150 mile trip on Sunday night.
I'm quite surprised how much fibrous debris is still being caught by the oil screen and the small towers of metal on the 2 mag chips although I do ride my Bullet hard on occasion!

I'd imagine that fairing makes a huge difference now we're coming into winter. Do you get much turbulence even on a windy day johno?

Good weather today, though cooler than it looked and with a day off had planned to get a good long ride in to take advantage. I left it too late though and sinking sun was blinding me at ever turn so just a short outing in the end. There'll be another day, the roads aren't going anywhere soon.
