Just ordered a couple of bits from CMW for the C5, EJK and some Biltwell grips.
Already got the 50s style exhaust from Hitchcocks sitting on the shelf.
I just want to put a few more miles on the bike before throwing some speed at it. At least get the 1st service out of the way.
I love the C5, but standard, it's just too damn quiet! Some extra go is always welcome!

It'll be interesting to see if you get skelped with tax!

Had to make a hard choice today...
...Ride the bike, or go for a flight on a B-17 (Aluminum Overcast).

I tried to find out what the tax is likely to be but the .gov web site was not forthcoming and seems purposely difficult to navigate...sodding thieves I tells ya!
So I've thrown caution to the wind and taken me chances.
I couldn't even find a list of percentages for different origins. I couldn't even tell you if that's how it works!
It's all so bloody cloak and dagger it's untrue.

I displayed my RE at a local high school-benefit car show. Considering that it was a car show, I did get a fair amount of interest in my B5.  But I didn't get any type of award though. Photos attached.

Dropped $900 on rides on the B-17 for the missus and me.

45k km oil change, relubing the chain then looked at my rear sprocket and wished I hadn't. Five teeth missing.
Dammit.
Still....40,000km on the C5 is a pretty good run for the tsubaki chain I guess, particularly since I've been doing 145km a day commute for the past 20k.
Will check out the front sprocket tomorrow with fingers crossed.
Tempted to ride still as it's my commuter..but won't.
Just bummed as I like the ride immediately after an oil change - she's always a little more sprightly.
But will park her up until sprocket and chain replaced lest the chain snaps doing 100kmh to work.

Just my two cents...I would go ahead and change out the front sprocket too, regardless if it's missing teeth or not.  When replacing a chain, it's best to do both sprockets, because they have worn to the stretch of the old chain.  This means with a new chain on the old sprocket/s, you are going to get an uneven and excellorated ware on the new stuff.  Just my two cents...

local motor show fro me today, no prizes this time though :(

Lots of great comments though and plenty of people took pics so pleased enough with that. It's kinda nice sitting close enough to the bike to keep an eye on it and hearing what people say without them realising you're the owner.

I wasn't going to take phone pics of everyone admiring her lol

It wasn't leaking oil, was it?  What was the pan for?

Nah, no leaks. All the bikes and cars had them under their engines.

As some of you may know, when I installed the 7" Lucas headlight on my G5, it pointed the beam down at the road about 15 feet in front of my front wheel.

To get the light to point down the road like it should, I slotted the two lower screw holes in the chrome headlight rim so I could move the bottom of the light forward to aim the light beam up.

All fine and dandy except the lower area of the rim would move forward almost to the point that it would disengage with the screw head if I revved the engine up to a speed that caused high frequency vibrations.
Even adding a nice flat washer and tightening the screw as much as I dared didn't fix it.

Today, I went to my handy hardware store and bought some external tooth, stainless steel, "star" type lock washers.  The kind that have a bunch of teeth going around the outside edge.  They cost about 17¢ each.

After installing them on the two lower screws I rode several miles revving up into 5000 rpm zone many times.
So far it seems the teeth have bitten into the chrome rim as it hasn't moved at all. :)

Wash, polish, wax...and I rode down to the DMV to pick up my new license plate.

Somebody beat me to ENFIELD by just a few days.  This was my second choice.  I'm just as happy.
There's a certain charm in rudeness.
