"What did you do to your Royal Enfield today?"
Not to my Enfield but with my Enfield. Took an MSF refresher with it.

Having the only kick start, drum braked, distorted clutch disc bike bike in the class was entertaining.  A few people were genuinely shocked by it's handling.

In a positive way I hope. :)

 Yes quite positive.

Ten bikes in the group eight of which were Harleys whose riders had not seen a British single cylinder in live action before. Unintentionally caught them unaware it seems. Agility is a wonderful thing. ;)  ;D

Fitted a new temp sensor to my C5 Chrome, and went for a punt around the city.  All good, no engine light!

Serviced the front brakes on the Military, flushed the disc brake system on the G5, lubed the drive chains and everything that could use some lube, adjusted everything that needed adjustment and went for a test ride.
Enjoying a post ride cup of tea as I write this, all is well.  :D

Changed the oil/filter and lubed the chain on my 2012 C5 at 550.9 miles.

For the record I also changed the oil at 37.3 miles and 198 miles.

Each of the 3 times I have done oil changes I was surprised at the lack of metal on the oil screen or in the bottom of the oil drain pan.

Rode to a Vintage meet in So. Cal --Over 100 vintage machines and the winner was a 650cc Panther -- Very rare here in the States-  Beautiful unrestored example --

Brought her home. It was a soggy ride, but it was worth it.

So, how's it feel to be riding a 535?

Never underestimate the value of improved combustion efficiency and reducing parasitic engine and rolling chassis losses.

Yesterday installed new Volar 530 o ring chain--This is an experiment because of low price, but will watch closely. Real Pain to rivet master link and needs a special tool.  Some reviews on this chain are good and others bad -- Today installed new Hagan shocks ---- Now a very happy camper but a poor one.  Will keep you guys posted on the Volar chain.  Certainly should be strong enough with the C5 horsepower but will it kink.

If I had to sum it up in a single emote:  8)

I feel like I've got more low end power, and I'm looking forward to breaking it all in so I can venture back out onto the highways.

Cool!  I may go that route when the time comes for a rebuild. What all did you do?  Just a basic cylinder/piston swap, or is it more involved?

I ended up having the existing cylinder bored out rather than buy the cylinder + piston combo (it was the more economical option).

I haven't had any other work done, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.
