Rainy and quite windy here today so I decided to pull the headlight jumper out from the bucket,  anyone know what the extra two wires are at the headlight?  Possibly for the H.I.D. option in India?

I removed the tool EFI and put the ammeter.

Does it work?  How did you connect the wires?

"Parking" light?  If it's like mine, you'll find the pair has power whenever you switch on the lights to the "parking" position... or the full-on position, too, of course...

No, not yet.
It will connect tomorrow, meanwhile, put the lights on and the fuel control unit with two holes in the nacelle.

Went for a ride, about 50 miles. It was pretty cold. Mid '40s. Again, I lost a nut off the header pipe to head joint. The engines sound changed suddenly. Fortunately I had another one, and a wrench. I have not yet found a solution to this problem. The area is way to hot for any kind of thread locker, it just melts. Still trying to find some kind of mechanical means to secure them. There are two things to secure. The nuts come loose on the studs, and the studs come loose in the heads. Maybe the only solution is to snug them up every couple hundred miles. I have ridden with Harley riders back in the early '90s who had to pull over every so often to tighten their engine mount bolts. Guess I have been spoiled by those "reliable" Japanese bikes.

You should try Loctite 2422 which is a high temp version of the blue thread locker good to 650 degrees. You can get it on Amazon for about 35 bucks delivered.

Met up with a friend that has on old KZ400 cafe style and went for a ride.  After the snow in the desert last week, the weather has been perfect B-)

Still trying to find some kind of mechanical means to secure them. There are two things to secure.

Get two stainless replacement drilled nuts or have your existing nuts drilled by a machine shop (Wow! That sounded bad  :o).  Then you can thread some safety wire through them. Mechanical solution and shouldn't cost very much.  Google "drilled jam nut" and you see what I'm talking about.  I've done this before on a Harley and it worked great.

Stripped and cleaned my new-old rearsets for my bike, I was gonna paint them but polished alloy looks cool!

I also saw at least 100 riders today (perfect riding weather for the whole month) and am sad I dont have a running bike :(

OEM pos battery gave up the ghost.
Picked up an AGM locally from Interstate Batteries and I'm back in business.  :D

Let's see, yesterday I lubed the chain and fixed an exhaust leak after replacing the torpedo with the megaphone.  I pulled the headlight jumper.  I also bent a heavy duty negative battery terminal about 45 degrees.  I had replaced this one when the stock one sheared off.  The new one was putting pressure on the post from the frame and actually broke the the negative post on the stock battery a short time ago.  I spent some time trying to figure out a front wheel squeak I was getting.  Assumed it was the brake, and tried to clean it well with some brake cleaner.  Didn't notice any squeak this morning but may have to take it apart if it comes back.

This morning, I stared at her sitting there in the snow and longed for the day when she and I could go for another ride.
