Title: Where is everybody?
Post by: dougodewitt on March 12, 2014, 04:51:30 pm
So since I've had the bike, I've bumped into one other rider-- So I am wondering, is there anyone out there within an hour or so of Springfield Oregon that goes on group rides with others of our breed? I ride with a group of canyon crazies, and don't have trouble keeping up on the twisties, but (of course) get smoked when the road gets straight for any length of time. Come on guys, lets do a roll call...please?

I'm a ways away in Lake Oswego, OR.  But these days I don't get many rides in except to and from work and errands.  I did have one buddy with an Enfield but he sold it, wasn't riding it much and had to pay some bills.

maybe some time this summer we can get together somewhere in the middle. I'm off on Wednesdays and Sundays. I do church in the am on Sundays, but after that am usually free. Wednesdays are wide open.

checked the map-- we could meet in salem or albany, take a ride to the coast or mountains, maybe stop for lunch and then take it home.

Sunny and 60 today.  This only means we are due for one more good heavy sto before spring is really here ;)

Gotta finish the winter projects up so I can ride to work past all the cherry blossoms at the waterfront.  I love this time of year in Portland.

Way cool. If I weren't doing everything involved in prepping to move my parents from their memory care facility in tucson to eugene, I'd be right there with you..

Freezing rain, followed by ice pellets, followed by snow and wind all day!  The sun eventually came out, and I saw my shadow briefly this afternoon, but unfortunately that means six more weeks of winter!  Sorry, guys...  :(

Near 80F today in Tucson  8)  But I've been hustling so much I barely get to ride the RE except to and from work.  Maybe this weekend things will lighten up...

Mowed the front lawn yesterday.  Will mow the back yard tomorrow. :(

I still think people who plant winter grass are weird.  I'd much rather have the whole winter off without any yard mowing at all than have a green lawn I would have to mow every week.

C'mon up, son!  You can sit and stare at your bike while you wait for the grass to start growing again!  ;)

Since this has turned into a weather thread...

Sub-zero (Fahrenheit!) temps predicted for next week, again, but it hit 45 today!  No riding (work day), but I did stomp through the melting snow on my deck to grill swordfish steaks!  Olive oil, salt, pepper, rosemary, lemon...  8)
