Your brake line clip should look like this,

Mine, euro 3 looks like,

The both bolt onto the mudguard with the same mounting point.
Your looks like an old socket or tool clip?
Off route, recalculate?

Thank you Haggis. Now that I can have a closer and quieter look, I believe
they used the wrong clip. I have a question, though. The little "hook" that tops
the correct clip, where does it, well, hooks? And, it goes on the inside
of the mudguard, doesn't it?

My wire type one just bolts on from the outside with the mudguard stay bolt.
The new style looks like it could fit between the stay and the mudguard,  on the inside.

There you go! You're right. The "hook", so, should hook *above* the mudguard stay, on the
inside. Since the wire one is less than a quid, I could even order both of the little rascals
(and then choose the stablest, of course).
To the bliss of a thump-only ride, one rattle at a time! Cheers.

The wire clip has a small end and a big end. The small end is attached to the upper mudguard stay screw, and the cable's fat "sleeve" pops into the other end.

Oh well, we all know, easy does it - or, Gently does it.
Freddy1's suggestion (BTW, thanks!) is actually the one I chose, but as a
temporary fix (and with thin wire in lieu of the elastic band) before
ordering the correct clip.
I am a tad annoyed - not only they left the exhaust pipe clip unhooked, thus
condemning me to months of weird rattling, they also installed the wrong clip
for the brake line.
Let's be positive: it's all a scheme to have me tinker with the bike (not that I
needed to be persuaded, though)...

I was fettling my Bullet Trials this afternoon  and purely by luck noticed that one of the three bolts that holds the silencer heatshield on was loose and rattling - probably not long until it fell out altogether. I also found that the shielding plate over the starter motor was loose - one of it's allen screws wasn't done up tight. Not actually loose, but probably not fully tightened at the factory so allowing the plate to move. I'm hoping when I ride it tomorrow the rattle which has been annoying me for a while will have gone....

Been there, done that! I don't know if it's the same with the Trials (although I guess so), but I
subsequently added the black starter motor cover from Hitchcocks and since then it's all nice and tight
(and better-looking).

Check also the rear brake fluid reservoir: on my C5 it was almost completely unscrewed when I looked at it.
You won't lose it, and it rattles very little, but it's become another of my routine checks.

I'll have a look at that. My rattle remains in spite of me fixing those loose bits.
