I get the Macy's catalog in the mail. Their Labor Day catalog has a UCE bike on it, likely a G5 . See attached image.

Hope it's not an omen ... Macy's is closing many of their stores. :)

And RENA is opening thiers :)
I predict a slow but steady progression. More stores, Himalayan, twin, maybe even a new single, and who knows what else?

I believe RE is very busy methodically building a solid future.

Wouldn't it be interesting know what is being developed in the new British development center?  ::)

I used to buy my motorcycles though the Sears Roebuck catalog.  Very good parts service.   :)  Don't know if Macy's can do as well, though.   ::)

WOW! That was even before MY time, but I have seen ads in the early catalogs, rifles as well.

The computer can't tell you the emotional story. It can give you the exact mathematical design, but what's missing is the eyebrows. FZ

My first rifle was bought from Sears.  It was a single-shot 22 and sold for something like $30, as I recall.

Unfortunately, the nearby public rifle range closed many years ago, after someone found a bullet in their neighborhood a couple of miles away from the range and thought it might have come from there. It wasn't long afterward that the county closed down the range and now all of the gun ranges have been closed in my county, other than the one left that is still used by the cops, and the politicians are trying to close that one, too - if they haven't already done so.  It should be no surprise that I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, where only criminals can own guns without being run out of town.  ???

Found a 100 year old sears catalogue in the library at my work. It kept us amused for ages seeing what you could buy in the same shop back in the day. Pages and pages of guns, then horse drawn wagons for gawds sake, then ladies hats and flat irons. truly something for everyone. I guess it was the (buy it now) ebay for those times.

Richard - Was this the motorcycle you bought from Sears? :)
http://auto.howstuffworks.com/1914-sears-deluxe.htm

That would have been really cool.  But nope.  What I had was a hard-tail, fan-cooled, 1958 Sears 125 two-stroke that was made by Puch, who converted their 3-speed left foot shift into a 3-speed scooter rotating clutch/handlebar assembly that transferred the motion via a series of rods to the foot gear-shift lever.  I assume that was at Sears' request. It was not a very good motorcycle, but it was fun at the time.

New homes in kit form too

In April, I was married in a Sears kit chapel.

Saw a new ad on tv last night for the Westpac bank, which apparently can give lady members the finacial freedom to ride a new bullet through the bush alongside wild horses. Sounds good to me. here's a slighly older Honda ad featuring a couple bullets too. "wake up, brian!"
