The new Gear Up retails for $16k.
Comes with EFI fuel system. All wheel disc brakes.
I haven't seen many used ones either.

I've got a 2012. They are a lot of fun.
Go here to read all about them http://www.sovietsteeds.com/forums/index.php

They haven't been available long enough for a sizeable used market yet. However, I've already seen 2 2014's up for sale over on the Soviet Steeds web forum. I've got a 2010 model and she's been quite reliable for me.
I took a gander at the 2014's a couple of weeks ago when the Ural Demo Tour stopped in Ft. Collins, CO. The bikes are getting better every year. My 2010 is greatly improved over the 2003 model I used to own. The 2014's are again probably a magnitude better than my 2010.
Unfortunately, with quality and reliability comes price. I doubt I'll ever be able to afford to buy a $17,000 bike. Guess I'll just have to settle for my oldies and my Royal Enfield.
Cheers,
Dan K.

Was on ebay, saw a 2001 2wd asking $7000 . And a dealer selling new Gear Ups with every bolt on add on for $25k ( I'm not kidding).
Urals do look like a lot of fun.

I know they have improved them a lot over the years but back in the '80's a friend bought a Ural sidecar rig.
After 6 months of owning it he changed its name to Urinal. ::)
-
I just never caught the sidecar bug.
The Urals look okay for that purpose, but I could never spend $17k on one. I'd be more inclined to go for a sporty vintage bike. That's the kind of bikes I like.

I just got to my new home for the next few years, back in Africa. Man, one of those rigs would be soooo much fun offroading the rough dirt tracks through the national park I visited today. Camping gear and daughter strapped on/in the chair, me enjoying piloting the bizarre rig to an awesome vantage point.

Thanks...South Africa's more than a bit far from where I am in the northwest, though.
Can probably get a US model imported via my job if I want, but I already have too much stuff. The Ural's just a pipe dream, I think.

Oil industry job?

I met a guy this weekend who was riding a 2012 Ural. The special "Ice Breaker" model. He's on his third engine!

I've got a 1994 Ural Tourist I bought used around 1996, I bought it from a guy in Washington state, at that time I lived in western Montana. I believe it was the first one imported by Ural America. I haven't ridden it much since I moved to Jersey but I had a blast riding it in the mountains of Montana. A buddy of mine bought three Russian Federation Urals made in the mid 1970's new in the crates and snuck them into the US across the Canadian border late one night. back then the small border crossings were maned only during the day. He applied for titles from some southern state and got them.

On January 1 there's an annual New Years Day ride in Missoula, My buddy Brett and I would screw short sheet metal screws on the knobbys and ride the 30 miles to Missoula to make that ride, it was a hoot.

Nice pics in Glacier! Glad you could put up with the traffic that time of year. ;D
My old stompin" grounds, raised in Great Falls.

I saw a Ural hack when I was driving to pick up my insurance check this morning. It looked like he was geared up and heading to the mountains for a week of fun. :)
