Looking for some information on a 1959 Indian I am potentially interested in. It's listed as a Chief, but I believe it's a Trailblazer. It appears to be complete, but the running condition is currently unknown.

So, I'm looking to verify that this bike is a Trailblazer, and assess a fair offer price. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated, as it's kind of obscure, at least from what I have found. I'm happy to have found this forum.

Is this a machine you want to actually ride? Is it supposed to be an investment? What's your mechanical expertise level and shop situation?

Silencers don't look original, and not sure what is going on with the control cables. Must be someone's homemade replacements.
Lots of interesting accessory items.
Very complete and looks like it's in good condition. Shouldn't take much to get running if it's not. I'd want to know the condition of the fuel tank. A quick carb rebuild and new fluid and start kicking. If it has a magneto you may be looking at a rebuild on that as they age out. $600-ish to get that done.
I'm no expert on the Indian badged versions but use this web site for help with identification:  https://www.re-indian.com/?fbclid=IwAR11QDz5VZruf0qGvnXWiPPMpvSZpAyO_8YnQJX1JEBx1krvUIY-SR53mXw
Value, from what I've seen browsing ads, is probably $6000 minimum up to $8-10k if running, but that's just anecdotal.

The file I have attached gives the correct engine and gearbox numbers, sadly not frame but can help in identifying if at least the engine is correct and not been changed at some point.

Does look like a Chief  but don't think it is, the Chief had wider forks and fatter wheels,  I think you are right in that it is  dressed up Trailblazer.

It's a Trailblazer. The Chief is different in ervery part you could mount to the frame. Seems to be pretty complete and all the crucial parts are where they should be. Paintjob's not original, but should give a good start for a project.
