I doubt if the battery is connected during transit from India so maybe some dealers are a bit lax about fitting it.

I have just taken a peek at my Classic 350s battery compartment and in aeronautical terms it's a negative, and i fitted one to the Interceptor myself, and that's a positive. Question is, and I know you're going to think I'm extremely wealthy, but i have three battery tenders and the connection are all slightly different, the basic design of the connection is similar but not universal. So were you supplied with a flying lead that you could splice to whatever you were going to connect to. Just asking.

Hi Rusty,

Roger that! Not sure what you mean by "a flying lead", but if any electrical devices are needed to be plugged into the SAE lead from the battery, which don't have an SAE connector on them, it's a simple matter to cut off whatever connector is there and attach a short lead with the SAE fitting (available at auto supply shops) to it, keeping the wire polarities correct, in case that could be important, like in changing the lead coming from a battery tender that only comes with the alligator clips.

Hope that answers your question.

Sorry, forgot to add. I asked the dealership owner directly about the lead and he confirmed they were imported with them on.
Cheers

AHHHH!! Thanks for adding that crucial bit of information to the thread redpat! The first confirmation that it is a factory item.

I'm wondering if Ivy's following post might have some truth to it regarding dealers who don't want their techs wasting too much time doing PDI services, with some, like Gearset's, even charging to put one on.

I was in the dealership again today to pick up a rain suit. I took the opportunity to confirm the information while I was there asking the tech this time.
Definitely a factory fit item.
Couldn't take my eyes off of the shipment of REs they were unloading. The blue and yellow meteor is lovely in the flesh. No match for the chrome interceptor with red accents though, what a beautiful thing. No good for me though as I'd ruin it in no time by not polishing it......sorry, still distracted and gone off topic. 😆. I tried to look for the charger lead but they were still clingfilmed on the part where they are fitted.
Cheers

Thanks for getting that further confirmation! If anyone knows the truth, it would be the guy doing the PDI on the bikes.
