So I will need some luggage - going from a maxi-scooter with lots of storage to a cruiser with absolutely nothing needs to get remedied, and quickly!

I'm aware of the aftermarket solutions found on eBay - with the steel 3-point mounted frames, and leather panniers. While I like this look, I'm worried that such a setup will look too too utilitarian - also I am worried about pillion comfort and access to the rear footpegs.

I am leaning towards a throw-over saddlebag setup, but where the yolk, or straps would run under the pillion seat. Has anyone gone this route? Any suggestions? There's some good solutions from a company in Spain - https://customspain.com/en/
This might be the way I go, but also open to other ideas.

I also like the look of some of the waxed canvas bags - like the military style available for the Classic 350 and 500. There's also some decent sized bags from Oxford, but not sure how well they would fit: https://www.oxfordproducts.com/motorcycle/brands/oxford/luggage/heritage_luggage/heritage_panniers_black_40l/

So I am taking my time here, because any solution will run $400 to $500 so I want to get it right the first time.

I will be installing a pair of the Givi hard panniers on my Meteor, hopefully this week, if they arrive as scheduled from Hitchcock's. I'll post a few pics once installed for you to see the fit. Seems to be lots of options out there though.

I went with small saddlebags from eBay. Not yet satisfied with this solution. Space for straps under the pillion seat is very limited and the grab rails limit it too.

I was able to dodgy up some shad paniers. Damned handy to have some storage. There's one on each side of course, this is mid installation

Im jealous lol. I wanted the shad23s sooo bad but I could not stomach paying more than the givi sides while still having to modify the 'universal 3p' bracket to fit the meteor. Lmao! I did not think about using another bracket altogether.

I bought the Shads and the bracket kit for A$200 second hand so it was a reasonably cheap mod.

I wanted some semi rigid panniers for my Stellar and chose SW Motech (German) ones but no frames available so made my own mounts. I imagine the RE pannier mount would suit now that someone in India makes a left hand one (previously only the right hand side was available). Here's mine - the panniers now strap around the grab rails rather than over the seat. The top bag is there because I don't carry a pillion. https://youtu.be/O0hIWDKB3Jg

Any information on availability of LHS pannier mount? I cannot find any reference to it elsewhere. Thanks.

I believe it comes directly from India via an ebay or Facebook account. A man in India is making them. A search may shed more light. I don't have any more information other than that I'm afraid. Sorry.
Regarding the SW Motech bags I've fitted. This is how mine strap around the grab rails. The straps are modified from those supplied with the bags.

I decided to try some inexpensive racks from India.  Quality is as expected I suppose.  Fit is decent, but to fit right, you need to source your own bolts, spacers, washers, and the like.  Required some touch up paint in places as well as cleaning up some sharp weld spattering in a few spots.

Based on listing photos, I thought the bottom of the rack was welded on, but it’s a bolt on affair (I think I need to seal the joint to prevent water ingress/rust).  Not a preferred construction method, but functional overall.  Pretty solid once mounted, and for the relatively low price, it should do to strap some bags on it.  I kinda like the looks of them too.
