Your thoughts on the brown seat phenomenon?

For me it would depend on the individual motorcycle and it's color scheme. Bolting a brown seat on just any bike is not going necessarily  improve the look. I wasn't aware this has become a styling trend. From a practical standpoint a black seat would be easier to keep looking clean at least in appearance. One of my bikes has a red and black seat, another solid black and my Bullet came with a tan seat that at first I thought I would reupholster to black but it's grown on me now to the point of wanting to keep it that color.

They seem to be a hipster thing, the accessory market is flooded with them. Other things will prize my wallet open long before they ever would!

Man, I'd nearly forgotten how appealing those Muskets are. Damn you for reawakening my avarice! Fortunately though, that red seat gives me enough pause to collect myself, roll up my tongue, and just be grateful for what I've got.
