Has anybody else tried the Liqui Moly 4T 15W-50 Semi Synthetic Motorcycle Oil and if so with what results? It has the right specifications as stated in the handbook .(API SL. JASO MA2) I used Silkolene Comp 4 at the 400 mile service but after going on the motorway today at higher speeds than I normally do, I noticed more vibration.  I've now done 2200 miles and will be changing the oil/filter again soon.

Some Meteor owners have reported some vibration at high speed. It is not abnormal for some engines to do that at different RPM's. It has nothing to do with the oil. Also, you are wasting money changing that oil out so soon. Not needed to do another change until 6,000 miles, especially with a synthetic oil.

I am using Liquimoly full synthetic 15w50. Infact at first service used motul 5100 and the engine was freaking running hot and noisy. After riding for about 500 miles on it at or around 980 miles changed to Liquimoly full synthetic. It made quite a good difference in terms of ride, gear shifting and also the heat dissipation was quite good. Right now have around 3100 miles since the change at 980 and doing excellent.

That's great news on the positive experience with the LiquiMoly bike oil. German? My results have been similar with the Motul 300v in the Meteor. Smooth and quiet all summer long and it's been a hot summer! I STILL don't have a clue why RE recommends semi-syn in the 'J' series 350 while specifying full synthetic in the 650 Twin engine.

Only reason I can think of would be for the benefit of buyers of the Meteor, who like a bike that's frugal on fuel and can do just fine with a cheaper semi synth oil.  :-\

Started the bike and voila within few seconds the whole bike was running mint. [...] From my observations the performance has gotten peppy i.e more responsive, best is the whole heating issue is absolutely reduced in comparison. The engine is quite cooler in comparison. Now drove over 60mph plus almost to 70 to 75mph on expressway and the vehicle is solid as a rock with absolutely no vibrations. YES no vibrations at all and breezes through the road like a arrow. Other things I noticed are the idling even when engine is hot after all this ride is constant, no clanking or clicking noises of tappets, and gear shifting is like butter. [...] After all this riding refilled the gas tank and had gotten approximately close to 81mpg in comparison to avg 69-71mpg on 5100 till date.

Am I missing something?  Is this sarcastic?

So this miracle oil improves the power output, lowers the engine temperature, rebalances the crankshaft to eliminate vibrations, stabilises the idle, adjusts the tappets, takes up the backlash in the balance shaft gears, and gives a 14% improvement in fuel economy.

Wow!  It's a wonder the other oil manufacturers haven't copied it.

The member in question posted an earlier thread about the "miracle" of this Liquimoly too, which led me to believe that he is either highly prone to the placebo effect, (most likely), or he is a shill for the company that produces it, since he lives in Texas, where some major oil companies are based. Either way, his miracle oil is a fantasy to him only.

Ah, OK!  Thanks, Dexter.

Yep, he appears to believe rather than think.  Thanks for the heads-up - I'll ignore him next time.   :)

I care a ball whether you both agree or disagree. I have provided my perspective..its left to individual choices of what others want to use or not use. This is general forum to express opinions and insight where few have the choice to consider or not consider. unless you guys own the trademarks or copyrights feel free to become professional consultants for these bikes through RE. Good luck with that.

Well, I like a good oil thread too but I'm going to keep it very simple. As long as you are using the specified oil (15W-50) as some have already mentioned, and it has an API SL Grade / JASO MA2 rating you will be fine.

I'm adding my "preferred" oil here but if it were not available I would just find something else. This oil is what is available in my area, I am a fan of the technology behind it (made from natural gas) and Shell products, I like the looks of the bottle  :) , and I am able to get a 10% discount (military/veteran) from the auto parts store.

So....the first statement is what is important. The rest is entirely up to you!

Motorcycles are like a pair of shoes, you can always use one more!

A friend that works on oils recommended 10w50 for better cold response

The same on the 650cc

But for warranty purpose will keep going to the dealer
