I have sent an email to my local dealer to ask them if they have heard anything.  I understand they were the biggest selling RE dealer in the UK in 2019.  so hopefully they should be on the ball.

My local dealer have not heard anything about a future update to the software/app for the tripper.

Doesn't look too hopeful if Europe etc are that far behind in updates.

I've just found this youtube video of a guy who has downloaded the Indian version of the software [7.3] and is using it in the UK.
Looks a lot better than the European version.

Oh the cynics among you !!!!! HaHaHa

Cynics !...I'll give you cynics Ha Ha . Here's the gist of the reply I recieved from the U.K. Importer Moto G.B......  Good afternoon,

Thank you for your purchase and getting in touch with regards to the  Royal Enfield APP,

Royal Enfield in the European Market will not require a similar new version of the RE App like the one that has been released in the Indian domestic market (They are different and the features are different). However, periodic improvements on the current version will automatically reflect in the app.
The RE App may be upgraded to newer versions in the future based on regional feedback. Any future version release will be announced in the App Stores and all the registered users will get an automatic alert."
Hope this answers your question.

Time to get feedbacking I suppose ??

I cannot say I am surprised.  Just a shame we cannot get to the bottom of the real reason.

If the two apps are regionally different how come some people in Europe etc are using the Indian version successfully.

Sounds like a load of B S to me.

The only differences I can see are that with the Indian app you can book your service and configure a bike which both are not available outside of India.

For me there are two useful differences. One is that alternative routes are offered instead of just one (the same as if you would use Google Maps), and two, when you turn the bike off, say to refuel or grab a coffee, the Tripper resumes with the info from the previous session when you start it up again, so there's no need to reprogram it to continue to your ultimate destination. These differences make the hassle of downloading and activating the Indian Tripper app worth it in my view.

Of course there are differences between the two apps concerning better functionality but there is no regional restriction of the maps they are using
