Are these two pilot jet compatible? On the left is a #15 Ucal and on the right is a Mikuni VM type, made by EBC.
Both are 8 hole, M5 thread and appear the same apart from the extra length, which being above the thread may not be relevant.
It fits in the carb fine.
Has anyone used these?
Thanks.

Usually there is a difference in dept of the casting passage for the pilot jet. The longer pilot jet is used on carburettors that have a shorter passage where the pilot jet screws into and the if the casting is longer then the shorter pilot jet is used. If the shorter jet is used when there is a shorter casting, the pilot jet sits above the fuel level in the float chamber which results in the pilot fuel jet being starved of fuel.

Thanks Richard.  :)

Can you get the correct Ucal jets indifferent sizes?

I wonder if anyone else had had the issue with this? There are threads that mention changing the pilot jet on these carbs, but no mention of it.
