Just wondered if anyone had done a caliper change on the bike?

Was just wondering about this....would like to upgrade particularly because of the rear which i find to be poor.  Front is excellent though!  Still....wouldn't say no to a set of real Brembro's.  Someone must be sellings a drop in set as a pair by now?

I'm not aware of any "drop in" (bolt on) 4 pot calipers (not slider) calipers for the RE 650. The issue is getting enough clearance between the caliper body and the spokes on the front wheel. There are solutions but not cheap, not simple.

I've not been able to find any bolt-on aftermarket solutions marketed specifically for the 650 twins. I thought I had seen a YouTube video where someone made some adapters for bolting on brembos for another application, but I couldn't find it in my history.

This is the way it has been discussed here in the past for improving braking.  I documented in my thread in case I want to do it all...

Quoting myself...

Duly noted.  That looks nice... will force me to change the levers again... Clutch lever will have to match.

I am fine with the braking on the bike right now... at this moment I was just looking for better pads as recommended by others.

If I ever decide to change the master cylinder I will also look to replace the caliper with whatever comes out of Hog Head's thread.

Video found on this mod:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSAWxQXiDP0

He used the Brembo RCS15 Brake Master Cylinder with a Rizoma Fluid Reservoir Pot CT027 Large Size.  Great looks... love those Rizoma parts.

For the clutch lever - TWM clutch perch with a TMW lever. It’s identical to the Brembo on the RCS15

For now, best mod for the bucks is just swapping the pads for EBC pads... this is what I will be doing next.

Break Pads

Front Pads Options:
Brembo part no. 07BB03SA or EBC Front Brake Pads FA209/2HH

Rear Pads Options:
EBC Rear Brake Pads FA213HH
Ride safe!

You may wish to search before asking the same question:

I did the Brembo RCS 15 MC quite a while ago.  That with EBC-HH pads is a big improvement

I also have done a Brembo 4 piston calliper swap, but as NV Ducati says, not simple.  I will try and take a look at simplifying it in the next week or two
Cheap is relative, but less expensive than what is out there now

There are several threads running on this subject and need to be consolidated into one.
