Aaarf-noon

Hitchcocks say they have reground the original cam.

TEC say “ Made in the UK from scratch with a single piece of machined billet steel before being heat treated for hardness.

Elsewhere you will find that competitors have just ground the base circle on the stock Himalayan camshaft.  However, we found that this restricted the way the timing and lift could be changed.”

Ya pays ya money and makes ya choices.

Personally I will be going the TEC route, don’t hold ya breath, I’m still saving my pennies ( Just shelled out on a Shogun🤪)

But like Oldphart asks “ any experience “

Of either would be helpful, so, Please do tell

Looks like both are vaporware…..none in stock.  Has anyone actually installed a HCM cam?  I have had no luck with searching the forum. Thanks.

I had a Hitchcocks’ cam and a Booster Plug installed earlier this month on my 2018,  and have only tried it for an hour and a half, on my usual single track roads. It seems to be smoother, with more torque and power in the 2500 - 4500 rev range ( so far) but I am very satisfied with the improved performance. When the weather permits, DV, I shall be able to test the modifications more thoroughly.

Hi! new user here, I saw Hitchcok's cam is back in stock, I was wondering if you have any update on its performance. Thinking on investing in one but can't find much reviews of this cam.

Thanks!

I installed the HCM cam last week. Probably another month before it is warm enough to ride and will report back.

In the interim, I had installed a high flow air filter and Lextec silencer last fall with minimal subjective improvement….also added a Powertronic from HCM a month later and that really woke up the engine…better performance all the way up to 70 mph.

Observations after starting the engine with the new cam….instantaneous start and smooth idle without any stall or longer cranking as would happen occasionally in the past.  Throttle seems much more responsive and the engine spins up a lot quicker.

Fairly confident based upon experience with my other bikes that this is going to be worth the time and effort.

The only minor complaint is that HCM offers no new map or guidance for Powertronic for their cam…..bit unfortunate since there is no autotune option, and no tuning places that offer Powertronic support in the US.

It was transiently warm enough for a brief ride during very strong crosswinds. Definitely pulls strongly and nicely. Not the fabled 20% boost on some influencer videos but a worthwhile effort overall. Thanks.
