Correct me if I'm wrong  - bolt is M8 and I believe the thread pitch to be 1.25, same as Triumph Speed Triple.

Anyone try a non-RE bobbin? I'd like to try the Oxford Spinners but I suspect there's not enough clearance as the mounts are recessed by a couple of mm behind the swingarm.  The RE bobbins have quite a large offset (Roshiba777's pic below)

I fitted cheap bobbins from J&S, for, I think £6.00 a pair. Work perfectly for me.

I just bought some cheapies off EBay with bolts. I chose gold  from The plethora of colours to match my tanks gold stripe. Fitted no dramas and look nice . $12 au or so. I think they were m8

I’d rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy...

Ta mate,  they look similarly short.  Forks don't scratch swingarm?

What's wrong with putting a washer between the mount and the bobbin to space it out?

I'm envious. My Harbor Freight drill press jumped off the bench when I showed it that picture.

Nice gizmos Gizzo. My 90yr old father in law, a precision engineer who made medical instruments for a job & built clocks for fun, has a lovely old bench lathe in his garage that I should have learnt to use. He still uses it and makes some neat stuff but I don't have room for it in my garage when the time comes to pass it on...

Hello. New Member here. I bought a paddock stand and Oxford Bobbins from my local RE dealer. The Bobbins are Model OX790 which are M8 x 1.0 pitch and they are very tight when I went to fit them to my 2020  GT 650.
Do the padoock stand mounting holes for my model bike have a pitch of 1.25?

Thank you for any help you can offer

I only got them for checking chain tension.
Is there any other use for them?

To enable use of a paddock stand.

I fitted 20mm longer Hagons so the rear wheel touches the ground when the bike's on the centre stand so yes, when I clean the back wheel
