Title: Here's a good tip

Don't park your C5 opposite an Audi Quattro with electronic handbrake if the parking lot is on a gentle slope.

I was putting on my gear to leave and just noticed something moving out of the corner of my eye. Too late to stop it but at least I managed to jump out of the way, impact speed about 3mph. The owner was in the sports centre so the handbrake either wasn't applied or it failed.

He was very apologetic and his insurance company have just authorised repairs so it should be ok.

The bike came out of it quite well. Bent brake lever & footrest and some cosmetic damage to a few bits but nothing that stopped me riding it home. It was on its side for half an hour until we could find the owner of the car and when we righted the bike it fired up first time ;D no fluid leaks at all.

A guy witnessed the incident and the bike starting, he now wants to buy one.

This just proves TWO points that I have always espoused - ONE - Never trust a car that features part of a tow chain for a logo ...... and TWO - A Royal Enfield will always get you home! I'm sad that the bike got whacked - but glad that it "did the Enfield" and started right back up once upright. I'm also glad that the fellow had paid up insurance to cover the damage for you.

That's some horrible luck! Hope everything turns out good as new with the bike when it is fixed.

Ouch. See if you had just sent your bike to WS for the Recall so it could sit there it wouldn't have happened! :P

Sad to see it mate, but hopefully she'll be back in A1 shape soon!

The New Bullet Classic... they even look good in a ditch!

EYOW!  Those pictures are hard to look at.  Good thing it happened at 3mph and not 30, with you on the bike.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery for the C5.
