Title: Thunderbird AVL350 Enginer Missfiring
Post by: anoop.kp on February 23, 2013, 01:14:49 pm
Hi,

I have a 2008 Model Thunderbird AVL350 , i have driven this about for 65k. Recently i am facing a misfiring (odd thump/ Pulling back) problem in the engine. When i raise the vehicle rpm more that 2k the engine will start misfiring or it gives an odd thump sound or a feeling like the vehicle is pulled back whatever we call it. I have given it to my regular mechanic and he said it is an electric problem and he changed the pick up coil, main coil and battery and etc. nothing worked out and the problem remains the same. if  any body has any idea about this issue, pls share.

Anoop Ji, Welcome to CMW forums!

When I changed my carb for the first time, I had issues with my jets. Well it was due to over-riching and faced something similar, felt like as if the bike was de-accelerating after certain RPM. Got the jets fixed and it was all good.

Did you check your Airfilter? (Maybe it is clogged and restricting air flow)

Ahah! You should have mentioned that :)

By the way, which carb are you using at moment? And what are the jetting specs?

Just a  bit of advice. Any time you have a problem, check the last thing you worked on first!
