I prefer to use the Shell Rotella triple T 15w50. an oil for diesels that does have the additives that we need. And since this ISN'T an oil thread I won't say that I can get it at Home Depot for less than $15 a gallon, bout $7 cheaper than anyplace else...

Technically speaking, the oil used in a UCE should have motorcycle wet clutch rating, so the clutch doesn't slip.
And since the UCE has roller tappets, the need for ZDDP isn't really critical like it is with the flat tappet older models.

That is all.

Again, the Napa oil is "Full Synthetic" in the RE specified 15w50 and is approved for diesel applications and is regularly $5.99 a quart. I know guys who use it in their Harleys and buy it by the case when it's on sale. It's made by Valvoline in Ashland, Ky..

Rotella 15W40 is wet clutch (JASO MA 1) rated. I use motorcycle 20W50 in my bullet although I think that the Rotella would likely be fine also.

I understand.
If you are going to shop wal-Mart , why not purchase Supertech 15w-40?

You have to understand that auto has a bunch of thinners and friction modifiers in it that motorcycles don't have. This is done to squeeze every bit of mpg out of an engine. Cars and Hardley's aren't unit construction, to my knowledge, so don't share the oil with the gearbox and clutch.
It's your choice to run whatever oil you want to in your bike, but the people in the know about motorcycle engines sure don't recommend it. Is you engine not worth $10/Qt, give or take a buck? That works out to be about .5 cents a mile for oil if you change it at the recommended intervals. Pretty cheap insurance if you ask me!
And for my own personal thought on it, I wouldn't put Valvoline in anything! I used to use it back in the '60. That proved to be wrong. Other oil was considerably better, so even if Valvoline has improved over the years, so has everything else!

Rotella is car oil and it's used in more motorcycles than I can count. Guess you don't use WD40 as chain lube either.

WD40 is nothing but a gimmick.  Penetrating oil my ass!  It is the worst oil in a can that you can waste your money on.  Liquid Wrench is where it's at!  ;)

I'm lucky I can get 4L of 20w-50 Full Mineral oil for $40 ;)
Look up the brand Penrite, if you can get it GET IT, it is one of best priced, best made and best wearing oil I have ever used: Cars, bikes, trucks, Marine everything.
Nothing beats good old Aussie made and designed stuff, if it works here, it'll work in Satans asshole.

I use WD 40 to wipe down my motorcycle.
WD means Water Displacement .
The penitrating oil I like is PB Blaster.
I also use ATF as a penitrating oil . If you are real cheap, save your used ATF.
